Taken from hubby's email. With his permission. Pic taken by the other Goldwing rider, so no bias is implied. :D

"Curly" is out of town for the weekend so we can make fun of him once again. Yeah right, like we never do when he's around, haha. Please take a careful look at the attached picture and find out what is wrong...................

Here is a man who's always complaining about Harleys, never any good, always by the side of the road, everything shakes and rattles.........well, I can't see anything wrong with that shiny black Harley, can you? But who's that guy with his toolkit rolled out in the street trying to get his ''perfect ride'' going again??? Yep, sure is...... Caught redhanded, well, blackhanded I guess.

Looks to me like those gold wings are old...like early 80's and that harley is newer. If you're going to compare them compare them at the same age. Not when one is 20 years older than the other.

Bah, Hondas and Harleys...two wheeled buses.

Now THIS is a bike....

baaaahhh!

two-wheeled speed bumps is all they are!

vroom vroom!!

You people disappoint me. Really you do.

Would you criticize someone who posts a joke thread? Tell them they told the joke wrong and it should have been told this other way? Or that maybe they the punchline all wrong?

*sigh* Whatever

Why get bent outa shape April?

We're just givin your chain a little yank....all bikes are great, whether they be Harleys, Honda's,Dukes or Jappas...
I'm a sports bike freak from way back, been Formula 1, 2, & 3 racing for 15 years (at club level), I always rag the Touring bike riders, its the 'done thing'. I'd rather be dragging my knees on a fast piece of pavement than sitting back croozin and listening to the radio...but if thats your thing...go for it.

Kep the wind in your hair and the bugs outa your teeth..and for safety's sake...wear a goddam HELMET and GLOVES and JACKET or better still FULL LEATHERS.
Skin grafts don't look good, I shuold know, I got a doozy.

Thankyou for this thread! What was wrong with the Jap Cruiser? Did his espresso maker break? His cell phone charger break? I have a 1953 Harley, and get the same guff from the "FNG's" (Fucking New Guys) on their new bikes. They tell me I should get something reliable, that I can ride long distances on.
I've got five thousand miles on it, cruise at eighty mph, and the only money I've put in it was for gas/oil/sparkplugs. Those same naysayers have had their new electronic module/ no think control bikes in the shop while I've been riding mine!
The Jap bike crowd talk of reliability, and they're right as far as not having to interface on a personal basis with their bike. Their parts are also more expensive than a Harley-Davidson. Any bike will be reliable for however long you want it to be if you stay on it's components.
Long enough of a reply? Sorry, I'm very passionate about the subject. Thanks again!
"Jesus died so we could ride." :D

I owned a harley it was a 125 if i remember right it was a long time ago i was rebuilding it and some guy saw it from the road and he offered me 1,000.00 for it and i said sure never did see it run it was given to me i made money off it. Now i drive a 1966 Pontiac LeMans. You can see it if you check my home page in my bio.

OK guys and girls..lets drag out the bike pics time..If you owned one, and got pics of it...post them here....

I'll kick it off with my 1984 Suzuki Katana 750..my first big bike.

If you want to lay down and ride something, Draco, I could suggest something better than that.

So I can drag your knees on the pavement at silly speeds then?

Heres another one of the bikes I used to ride/race, this belonged to my best friend, until I totalled it in a car wreck (sorry rick)

GS 1000 SN (1979)

Ahh..the first of my wonderful 2 Stroke Yamaha's, the loose and lethal RZ 350 YPVS good for 140 mph and could see off a lot of bigger bikes with a skillful rider aboard. Was quicker and a better handler than the Kat 750, only weighed half as much.

Another of my 2 strokes , Yamaha RD 350 LC. Not as quick as the RZ , but it would still do 120mph after some serious engine mods and race pipes. The local cops hated this one, was always getting ticketed for speeding and excessive noise, plus once for pulling a big mono (wheelstand) past the local shopping mall.

Okay, this is the last and by far my favourite bike, my old faithfull
Kawasaki GpZ 900R. This was fast, nimble and the sort of biike you could ride to the track, strip it down to race trim, race it all day then ride it home again afterward. A great bike and I kicked myself long and hard the day I sold her.

OK, Now I want it to be warm and summery here so I can see the bikes go by. I'm glad I live along one of the main routes heading to Sturgis each year. I love the trail of bikes i can see and hear each August. :)

Well then, looks like we'll have to hire a Harley one year and join on the ride. Sounds like a ball of fun to me....:D
