Who here likes the all you can eat buffets at these places and or others? I used to like Old Country Buffet but the bacon grease in the cabbage, cauliflower, corn, rolls, meat, etc got old fast.

Any other AYCE places out there? How about the rest of the world or is this an American phenom?

Just curious.

And ladies. Email me, talk dirty, you know you want to you horny thing.

The Casinos

Have the best!
Then the chow hall at NAS Lakehurst in New Jersey.
and the place at Panama City Beach that does the seafood.
And any really greasy hometown pizza place. I use the parmesian to soak up the grease and the peppers to give it flavor.

All of our OCB's are dirty and disgusting now.

China Buffet rocks, especially on Saturday nights when they have Crab legs.

All you can eat chinese food beats out EVERYTHING.

Hometown Buffet (California) is pretty good, the menu has lots to choose from. Not very fancy, but it's always nice not having to listen to the kid whine about what she doesn't like today.

only places in england are pizza hut
and indian restaurants for sunday lunch
if you havent tasted tandoori chicken you havent lived

The name Ryan's family steak house actually makes me hot. I dated a guy who worked there. Yummy!:p

SkeaKountry in the parking lot of IKEA on I-10 in Houston is a place to avoid.

But I heard there is a place near there that has all you can eat lobster for 20$.

There is an all you can eat seafood place South of Houston in Texas City called The Reef. Oh yeahhhhhhh. They bring your all-you-can-eat to the table. I've never seen anyone get a 3rd serving--the stuff is great and of the best quality and the goodies that come with it are spectacular. Their blackened redfish is to die for. (This is coming from somone who does not like seafood, y'all--the stuff is so good even I like it!)

If anybody is interrested, it is on Palmer (Take the MOM exit off of I-45)

Mmmm... all you can stomach!

Ryan's rocks.
Golden Corral ain't too shabby (in fact, it was the first restaurant that Imoen and I ever went to... Romantically pigging out at the AYCE trough ;) )
Western Sizzlin is just playing catch-up, now that Golden Corral has been stomping it for years.

There are several Chinese buffets near Raleigh that are really good, as well as a few Indian ones.

If you can find one that does it, the buffet at KFC ain't too bad.

How about other areas of the country? Ambro and I are practically neighbors... (well, within a day's drive, anyway :))

Forgetting all about the gross factor.

The food is terrible. Who cares if you can have pasta, fried chicken, and tacos all from the same place if it's shit?

Fresh Choice

Located in northern CA - i don't know about other places - Fresh Choice has the hands-down *best* AYCE buffet i've ever been to.

They've got a huge, endless salad bar that contains all the regular stuff as well as many far more exotic salad items. They offer fresh pasta with a variety of sauces (real shredded parmesan and garlic, for instance, as toppings, too), baked potatoes with all the usual cast of toppings, really *good* homemade soups (5 or 6 new soups a day), a pizza bar (several kinds of pizza are always available), and fresh breads with a choice of spreads. The dessert area, acknowledging the trend in this place to really well-prepared and healthy food, consists of less highly caloric, empty-calorie, high fat items than many AYCE places offer, but still manages to be enticing and tasteful with fruit, frozen yogert + toppings, tapocia, and some chocolate stuff, too, for those who need and must have chocolate at the end of a meal.

Yep. Fresh Choice is the very best AYCE place out there, for my money.

(A side note: in the San Diego area, Soup Plantation has a good reputation.)

I generally prefer the Texas Station's International Buffet.

A variety of foods from all over the world, so you can fit just about any taste preference, and a price even I can afford occasionally.

Almost any of the casino buffets here in Las Vegas are a good choice. There are enough of them that you could probably eat at a different AYCE every day of the year.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh we're talking about the food? The guy tasted much better! I don't like people's hair and lint falling in my food. I worked at Roy Rogers about a thousand years ago, and when the macaroni salad was about 3/4 empty they would have us mix in the new stuff. I couldn't get over the idea of one noodle that was 5 or 6 mixings old being in there. Still, on the road with kids, I've ended up back there. :(

My vote goes to all of the AYCE places on the Outer Banks in NC. Every imaginable type of seafood, and no time limits!

(Plus, you're in a bathing suit with ELASTIC waistbands!)

The buffet at a chinese place here called Panda Palace rules. I love it. Other than that though I never go to all you can eats.
