Going through a lot of batteries...

Hi all,

Well, I'm new to AH also, but not nearly as bold as DevilishDesires... :)

However, I do have a burning question that I would love AH feedback on.

What is the best strategy for writing good sex into your stories? I'm not talking about words to use or POV or whatever. My problem is that as soon as I get going on a good scene, I get all excited and have to stop and take care of myself. Then I have to rest a little before I can start writing again.

The way things are going, it's taking forever for me to finish a story! Since I've started writing, I am pleasuring myself more than ever and going through a lot of batteries, not to mention that I'm not getting an awful lot of other things done. And I'm exhausted by the end of the day.

How many times do you all have to stop when you're writing? Is this just one of the things you deal with as a writer of erotica? Not that I'm exactly complaining...

Begging for help...

PS - If there is an archived thread about this somewhere, can someone point me to it? Thank you!

I fail to see the problem.

Welcome to the AH! :rose:

you're going to fit in here so well lonely :) It's always good to enjoy what you're working on...and all i can suggest is rechargeable batteries?

I think it's all in what you write for. I take forever writing, and I take forever doing a drawing, if it's not to a deadline, because it's more fun that way. I think I put more thought into something if I can let it find its own time, too.

If I write to a deadline, then I have to do it like a job, that's all. But if not? Let it take as long as it likes to complete. For, ahem, whatever reason.

Nice to see a new face, so to speak.

My advice would be to try and hold out to the end of the scene if you can. If you write it all in one fell swoop, then it'll flow better, as everything will be written in the same style and the same mood. I find sometimes works can be staccato if you stop in the middle to 'relieve the tension'.

Welcome to the AH and good luck to you.

Yeah, and it's so much bigger when you put it off that long... :catroar:

Thanks

Thanks for all the welcomes. :)

Exactly one of the problems I am having... Then I would go back to edit and try to smoothe it out and run into the same problem again.

*grins sheepishly*

I will try to hold out as long as I can, but it's tough!

Thanks again for all of the advice.

Place your hands firmly on the arms of your chair, sit back, close your eyes and take two slow, deep breaths. Trust me, it helps.
