Just wanted to let "my" writers know that I'll soon be leaving the country for several weeks (Hey, stop cheering!) and I won't have Net access from other than "approved" sources. If you're planning to send me any manuscripts, you'll need to get them to me within the next few days or after I return. (You could give them to another ed. of course, but that would motivate my attack gerunds to inflict severe reprisals.)

I appreciate the well wishes, but--given the destination--enjoyment is probably not an option.

I'll miss you, studly. Who else is going to make me say "What the hell?!?!?" on the Word Association thread?

Have a safe trip and hurry home ... unless of course you're going to an all inclusive beach resort ... then stay as long as your credit card will allow. :D

I've left a list of off-the-wall free associations in my desk drawer and deafted a couple staffers to work them into the thread. Just wait until they get the chance to post "rephlungimate." :)

Seriously, though ... take care and have a safe trip.

Nope, it doesn't. I could make up any number of odd words in German though :D

How does Scheibenwischerwaschwasser sound?

Sounds good if it has anything to do with *washing someting in water*. I seem to remember that "wasser" is water and your "wischerwasch" remind me of clothes washer. As for "scheiben" the only thing close and ressembling it would be "schreiben" but then I don't see what a washer, water and writing would do together.

It makes the ink run so that you can't ... quite ... make ... out ... what ...it ... says!

Close, actually :) It's the water used to wash your windshield wipers. You get ten points

Um... how about Käsefonduetopfreiniger?

And as a bonus, have you heard of Wadde Hadde Dudde Da?

On a side note, I can't believe I actually just mentioned that.
