I watched a movie last night called "Clerks". The male and female main characters were having a discussion.

The female got upset when her boyfriend told her that he had sex with 12 women. She only had 3 lovers, one of which included her boyfriend.

After some discussion, a guy came into the store that the boyfriend worked in. The girlfriend also knew him but referred to him by the nickname Snowball.

Anyway, the b/f asked how she knew this and she admitted that she had gown down on "Snowball". The b/f stated that she had said she only had 3 lovers and "Snowball" not one of them - to which she admitted to going down on 37 guys. Her b/f flipped out..

Is going down on a guy sex? Or is intercourse considered having sex?

If a woman gives head to so many guys, would she be considered a slut as some would think she was if she had sex with that many guys??

I think the old double standard comes into play here, once again.

I think it's sort of silly to draw lines in the sand, in real life. Sex is mostly in the mind, anyway.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that sex is sex is sex, and not something that can be defined exactly, or at least the way I see it. And to be honest, I would consider a deep emotional tie with someone (other than a pure friendship, of course) to be more threatening than if my SO simply had sex with someone else. One's over fairly quickly, the other isn't.

But, seriously? Going down on a guy is a pretty damn intimate act, and, for me at least, I'd have to see it as something more than just a friendly gesture. I've only gone down on one guy that I had no feelings for, but there was a reason behind it, which I won't go into here. He's also the only guy that I've gone down on, and not had full sexual intercourse with.

I think that sex is sex. I don't go for the oral don't count, or the only anal = still virginal or any of that.

Honestly, my wife would consider anything stronger than a light kiss to be crossing the "cheating" line. Personally, I guess I would too, if only because it is my wife's views on the subject that matter to me and thus she defines it for me.

But the point about emotional attraction is well said. I think I would actually be in less trouble with my wife for the full act with someone she did not feel I cared for than I would if I went down on a couple of people she knows I care for in other ways. I mean, both would get me in major hot water, but... I agree with her too. A kiss from a friend would mean more to me for a longer time than a more graphic act with someone that I only liked for the way they looked.
