An old man wanders around a lagre room, filled with ticking....

....tick tock....tick tock

the old man suddenly turned as the large window to the clock store shatters so quickly the sound of the glass is heard moments later.

....tick tock.....tick tock

A hand, pale with long nimble fingers closed around the old mans chest, lifting him in the air easily as he felt 2 sharp points at his neck.

.......tick tock......tick tock

The old man gasped as his neck was punctured by two fangs, and his body started to glow a dim blue as his form slowly wavered....

.....tick tock.....tick t-........

the old mans body scattered, dissolving into sand and ash as the tall, gaunt figure in black stood, wipping a black-sleeve against its lips. "Father shall be pleased,Father Time has been a thorn in our side for ages...and for The Families ages means ages. With a rueful chuckel the figure blurred, then broke into a cloud of bat-like creatures, flowing as one out the broken window.....
--------
A few miles away the figure reshaped itself in front of a crude statue of a person.the statue lurched a bit, becoming animated."Seeing as you are alive Lucian, you must have succeeded"it rumbled witha voice liek gravel and mountain slides.

"it was easier then i though,he must have suspected,i know he did,the energy was to little for such an elder. He must've passed the spark on the old fool"the young looking, lithe figured remarked bitterly.

"But....He Is gone, and without him his followers will not move against teh Families"The golem replied."let us leave, our Father's will want our reports, and we should get there by dinner time."
With a chuckle the thinner figure placed a large casket, almost like a coffin on teh ground and nudged it open with a foot as the golem seemed to melt, flowing itno the casket and allowing the vampier to close him in before the casket and its content is picked up easily.
------
An hour or so and an airplane ride later, the casket was open and the golem reshaped itself as both himself and Lucian bowed respectfully to two elder men sitting upon raised chairs, almost thrones. On the one chair sat Dracula, austere and garbed traditionally.ont eh other side sat an older man, hair shockingly white, dressed in a long,well-used lab coat. Both of the older men smiled and greeted their sons warmly.

from teh side door entered two women bearing a small hollow crystal sphere.the first women was shockingly beautiful, wiht dark, lustrious black hair and piercing cat-green eyes.she smiles and suddenly breaking character embraced ehr son Lucian and gave him a kiss on teh cheek."i am glad you have returned safely my son"

The other woman finished placing the sphere and its tiny stand down before turning to the tall golem, who picked her up gently and kissed her on either cheek gently before she patted the golems arm and was lowered."i too,am glad you are returned safely my Ivellias.

Dracula rapped a black cane on the ground for attention."if you will ladies?we still must finish this nights business before the night goes stale."the women both nodded and walked behind their husbands as Lucian stepped forward first, taking a slim knife out of a pocket and holding a pale wrist out, slitting the skin gently and letting a few drops of bright red blood, which dripped itno teh sphere and expanded, filling an 8th or so of the sphere."i am soryr Father, but ti seems Father Time found out somehow of our plans, and managed ot pass on a good portion of his power before i reached him".Dracula sighed but wavedd a hand,"it is alright my son,as long as the old man himself is gone you have accomplished your task."

Ivellias stepped forth next, the material at his chest sliding away to reveal a slim tube of plastic with a digital seal at the edge,he keyed it oepn easily, and tipped the bright blue liquid in,filling teh crystal to nearly 3/4 full.
"The river spirit of the Nile,as you requested Fathers"he nodded and stepped back as the crystal sphere was brought forward towards the old men,who both took out goblets and poured an exact equal amount into either cup, then drank it down fully, not missing a drop.around teh room, the air tingled as both men laughed, their limbs tingling wiht the new power.
"you have both done well"Dracula stated and both elders reached out, clasping their respective son on the shoulder, passing a jolt of power into both of them.

"and now,all of us,to the dining hall,i am refreshed and wish to celebrate!"Dracula remarkjed, dipping his beautiful wife(the first and only one, contrary to myth)with enthusiasm, and marching after Dr. Frankenstien.

An wild boar roams the forest, searching for its usual water spot. Upon finding it, it lowers its head and takes a few sips. Suddenly its ears peerked up, hearing a rustle in the nearby bushes. Not being the type to stick around and explor, the large pig slowly backed away. It was so concentraited on the rustling bushes, that it didn't notice that somebody held an sword over its head...

***

Rock sat on the ground, leaning on an tree. He slowly and cleaned his blade of the pigs blood. Mia wasn't that far away, she poked at the pork that Rock had brung, and at the fish she caught. "Hey Rock, dinner is ready!"

"Hmm? Okay, I'm comming." Rock placed his sword back in its scabbard and walked over to the fire. He sat down beside Mia and taken an part of his portion.

"Hey Rock, can I ask you something?"

"Yeah?"

"We got an pretty big haul today, so why are we only eating half?"

"Look over there." Rock pointed to his left, on a small hill, a pack of wolfs howled at the sky.

"I thought that wolfs were hunters, not scavengers."

"They are, but this forest has been scarece on food lately, so I gave them half of our haul."

"Mmm..." Mia gave Rock an odd glare.

"What?"

"Sometimes you amaze me Rock. You act so cold torwards people, when in truth, you're as noble as your parents"

"Ha ha, very funny!" Rock gave an short sigh, and sunk his sharp teeth into the meat.

Jandar walked out of the room he had been staying in that night. He was still tired from his night of drinking and gambleing that he useally chose to do at every chance. Still he had taken quite a haul from the begginers. Five thousand to be exact, not bad for three hours of work. Luckily no one had accused him of being a cheat, he never did, and no one likes being accused of something they didn't do.

He took the elevator to the lobby and checked out of the hotel. He paid his bill and stepped outside enjoying the cool morning air. His stomatch growled at him and he walked down the street to the nearby coffee shop for a bit of breakfast.

She stood in the dimly lit bathroom of the all night diner, scrubbing her hands under the scalding stream of water.
There was blood on her hands...though not visible...she could feel it...dirty...

Her pale skin had turned an angry shade of pink from the scrubbing, she sighed turned off the water and exited the restroom.

She thrust her aching hands into the deep pockets of her ankle-length black leather jacket. Her right hand brushing against the envelope stuffed to capacity with cash, way back when the blood of a virgin...a heifer or an act of penance would be enough to enlist her services...but these days people were willing to spend much more for her services...

She retook her seat at the counter, a cup of black coffee was waiting for her, it had been a long night...

Lucian

Lucian sighed to himself, his breath a mist, though if he wished he would not need to breath at all.He looked up at the towering walls of the crumbling Irish castle, then flattened himself against the wall, the shadows swirling to conceal him as Ivellias slid along the walls, his body blending colors with the wall slightly, the darkness hiding the color variation as lights starting to fill the air.
Lucian spoke in a whisper into his headset."targets incoming, get ready my brother"he heard a soft reply and smiled a bit grimly as they both waited, hidden.

In a flat circle of grass outside the castle lights and dust motes started to gather, the Fae drawing into a huge massed assembly, numbering about a quarter of Ireland's entire Fae population as darts of light and color waved and shifted and danced between others,a shimmering aurora of beauty, the tinkling of soft laughter and speech filling the air.

One of the tiny creatures, standing about 4" high with foot long shimmering crystalline wings broke off, floating closer to the shadows.it tinkled merrily and danced a bit in mid air before a hand slipped out of the shadows, gripping ti and crushing the beautiful thing without care, its essence flowing out into Lucian's hands, which were soaked in the creatures lifeblood.
"now brother..."was the quiet word, devoid wiht emotion as Ivellias dissolved partly away from the wall, hands forming and secreting two automatic weapons of human manufacture, the sounds of bullets filling and shattering the small pretty creatures revelry as numbers of them were pierced, there life essence floating out and disappearing into their brothers and sisters. Finally the torrent ended and a blur shot forth from the shadows, grabbing two, crushing them instantly as a boot came down to crush another,Ivellias's body falling down to engulf another three, tendrils of himself whipping out to grab More and more, turning the once merry, beautiful space into a slaughter, tiny crystalline bodies laying crushed or broken littering the area as every last one was crushed and its life essence absorbed.

Lucian stood straighter, brushing off crystal flakes as Ivellias reshaped himself, flexing his hands"Lucian,it seems our Fathers gift has come in handy,i feel so much stronger"he laughed,a hand grabbing a small boulder and spinning, hurling it far, sending ti tumbling out of view Whit a laugh.
"please brother"Lucian chuckled darkly,"it is unseemly to act so undignified while we work, wait until we return Home to play around"Ivellias nodded and smiled as the vial slid out of his protective body, filled with the sucked in blue and green godly essence, nearly a full tank as Lucian lightly pricks his wrist with his fangs, sucking for a moment before letting the blue and Green liquid sip out into the vial, filling it and half of another as it slides out of Ivellias.
"We have done well my brother, the Family shall be pleased, maybe we shall get more gifts"Lucian let himself smile and laugh joyfully among the dead Fae."I cannot wait my Brother!Just think what we will be a able to do with another boost such as this!..................."

In the deep skyline the filled up London's eastern quarter, many of the older buildings had diverse stories to go with each. Some had hauntings and ghostly visitors, who would creep into a room, and mess the furniture around. Ahh yes, what better way to terrorize the living than to redecorate.
Stories passed, though, as they do. A thousand years ago, there were stories of living stone, and giants made from rock that would aid armies who called upon their help. Those stories turned into legend, and legend eased into myth, and myth became another useless fact for the encyclopedia and a question on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
Still, gargoyles plagued a lot of the older buildings, as they had once done on castle walls and keep's innder domains. Stone structures that represented everything from sitting lions, to almost mythical lizards with wings, and a thirst for blood.
Terra clawed his way up to one of the buildings, feeling the screech of stone against stone as his claws forced holds. He had no thirst for blood, no thirst at all, to be honest.
He had never drunk, nor desired to, never eaten, never breathed. None of those things bothered him. He had never made love, and that did bother him a little. He would look down at his smooth iron body though, the chiseled muscles that would never soften or embrace. It would ben interesting to find a lover able to accept him.
Still, as he reached the top, seeing the night's death of the city kiss the sky's starry breeze, he couldn't help but think of his existence in terms of living. He could move, and talk, and even have feelings if they were appropriate for the times. He did feel love, and hate, and jealousy. He loved the feeling of rage. If there was anything that made him feel alive, more so than his prisonment inside this iron clad body, it would be rage.
Terra ran, jumping high into the air. Twenty feet up, he caught a tuft of wind, and soared high over the buildings. He didn't know quite how he flew, one of those other mysteries about him. He weighed a couple of tons at least, pure stone, but his wings carried him like he were a bird nestled on a breeze. He'd imagine the same sort of power that kept him moving despite no heart, no blood, no lungs, and no muscles, also made him glide on air.
He didn't complain though, why would he? No reason to...
Besides, there were places to go in the young night. She held many secrets, and before morning, he would discover a few of them for himself.
He spun east, looking for an old delapidated building.

Ivellias was on his own for tonight,as he stood upon an old library or musuem,he couldnt remember.
Across from him a creature from stone,a small gargoyle with birdlike features cawed unintelligably.
"huh, not even enough power to speak, this will be easy"He muttered as hsi form stretched out, wrapping around the smaller gargoyle and slowly crushing ti as it tryed to claw and fight its way through,to onyl find the metal and stone composition to hard to claw,to hard to shatter as it gave one last cut-off scream of rage and pain itno the night before it was broken itno pieces, then dust, its glowing blue essence dissapating upward to be caught in another container, barely filling a few inches as Ivellias reformed himself, stretching a bit."that makes the third catch this week without getting more then a quarter of a containter filled"the lartge figure sighed, tossing the tiny container up and down in one large hand lazily."Lucian and the Father's will not be pleased, but at least they trust me,or at least Lucian does and he knows how to talk our fathers out of their stints...."

ooc:my first to posts im going to have set a few weeks ago, before anyone else joined in,this sets up a place for pooh to join in and stuff,so he can learn about the "family" and all the violence starting to awaken across the world)

Jandar sighed as he read the morning paper, more wars, more death, more violence. It was all anyone can do to stay peacefull in this violent fed world.

"Take up your destiny," a voice said behind him. Jandar didn't even look to see the aspiriation behind him. He found that ignoreing these visions useally made them go away. He finished his coffee and stood. He stepped back outside, still aware that the vision followed him. This city had the largest library in the area, perhaps something from the past could elinghten him to the presant.

"Rock? ROCK!"

Rock's fox like ears twitched as he snapped out of his transe, and looked at Mia. "Huh?"

"You blanked out again Rock. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Okay..." Mia stood up and stretched. "So, where do we go now?"

"Dunno, we've been travling West for a while now. And we had no luck."

"Hey, why don't we check out the city? Maybe we can find something there."

Rock sighed and checked his sack. "We need supplys any ways..." Rock stood up and stared at the fire, before kicking the dirt, putting out the fire instantly. "Alright," Rock said, slightly discoraged. He wasn't a big fan of going into citys any more, it meant that he had to hide his ears and tail. "Lets go."

Iona wandered the city streets as she had done many nights prior.
It was still early, but people were already about, hurrying like busy worker ants to get to their nine to fives.
She made her way over to a vendor and bought this morning's paper.
The faces of the people she'd killed smiled at her from page one.
Apparently the police were pinning the slaughter of the board on a former employee who they'd found later that night with a bullet in his brain and a gun in his hand...

Well they were partially right... She thought.

He had sold almost everything he owned to exact his revenge on those who would deprive him of his livelyhood...too bad he couldn't live with himself long enough to see his vengence exacted.

She shook her head and tossed the paper in the nearest trash can, mortals had but one life to live...why would they waste it on suicide...?

She lit up a black clove cigarette and continued walking, expertly weaving her way through the masses of bodies.
Her loft was located just four blocks away, an old industrial building converted into expensive homes...but the large glass windows, exposed brick and cement floor had appealled to her.
It was simple, very different from the accomedations she was used to...but it was home.

She showered quickly and changed...before heading out again, books in hand.

Rock and Mia walked through the streets, having already picking up all the the supplys, and asking around to see if they had seen anybodie that matched Zerro's description, but no luck what so ever. Now they were just wandering, Rock lost in thought.

'Another city wasted, another unsucessful search...' Rock thought. Rock's ears twitched invountary. He quickly turned to Mia, a slightly alarmed look in his eyes. "Mia, we better go somewhere quiet, I don't think my hearing can take much more."

"Right," Mia opened up a map she got from a liquir store, "lets see, I think there is a library or something round the block, that should do it..."

Rock only nodded, the hustle and bustle of the city getting to him.

The main lobby of the library was massive, with a beautiful open foyer illuminated by a massive skylight.

She returned her books, then proceeded up the curved mahogany staircase to the second floor.
She had lately become facinated byreligious texts...man's interpretation of the divine. She delighted in parallels and shook her head in dismay at obvious falsehoods.

Her black stilletto heels clicked on the floor as she moved through the aisles...she'd made it a force of habit to purposely make noise when she moved in the daylight. A habit she'd learned after living amongst humans for so long. Soundless movements and catlike grace didn't normally pass without question in mortal society.

Her body tensed unexpectedly and she paused for a moment, but the feeling passed and she resumed her wandering...

Rock looked at a few books, curious in what the acient asian's "mythical beast". Rock repressed the chuckle, knowing that these, "beast" were real. In fact, some were close freinds of his mothers.

Mia on the other hand grabed a few comics for her to read. Many of them she already read at least twice, but she enjoyed reading them over and over.

While he was reading a few asian mythology books, Rock picked up the sound of clicking heels from not too far. At first it alarmed him and made his tail fur stiffen, seancing something different in the air. But he quickly regained control and went back to his reading, ignoring whatever it was.

The old building had been a solace for him for quite awhile. He loved coming back here, to the ancient part of the city, where warehouses stood against the skyline like rusting boats on their moors.
Terra made his way inside, through old windows that had long since been broken by rocks and uncare. The dark consumed the interior, but Terra seemed to enjoy it just the same.
A sense of longing crept back at him.
"What in the hell are we doing here?"
A voice rang out, enticing Terra. He heard it, although his ears were as useless as anything else on his body, but he heard it just the same. Floating down, he was careful to hear more.
"You heard the boss, we're supposed to wait."
"For what?"
"He'll be coming anytime now."
Why did we have to bring the truck? Couldn't we have grabbed the limo?"
Trust me, we'll need the truck?"
Terra landed on a truck, parked in the middle of the warehouse. The springs groaned coarsely with the added weight. This cause two men, both with slick hair, sharp features, and very nice suits to look up at the golem.
"What the fuck?" One of them took out a gun, firing at Terra. He flinched, as sparks flew off of his chest.
"Hey, hey, put that away, damnit. That's why we're here."
"What? What kind of freak is this?"
"It's a freak that's gonna make Big Tony rich. This thing can do anything."
"Yeah?"
"Except swim," Terra said, cocking his eye, "What does Big Tony want?"
"A favor. He wants you to come with us."
"What makes Big Tony think I owe him a favor?"
"Mary's child..."
Terra let the words hang for a moment, before shrugging his gigantic shoulders.
"Where are we going?"
"Just get in. We'll take you."
Terra hopped to the ground, standing up straight, reaching his 8 feet heighth, and towering over to the lackeys. He just wanted to see some fear in their eyes, before he got inside. The springs once again protested.
"Come on," They both got into the truck.

Jandar scaned through the multitude of books, serching for something he did not know. He felt that if the answer was here he would know it when he saw it. He picked up one book it was rather light and as he touched it in his mind he saw ever possible aspect on how the book could be used as a weapon.

.Her body tensed unexpectedly and she paused for a moment, but the feeling passed and she resumed her wandering...

The pointed corners could be slammed in the eyes, the flat of the book could be used as a parrying device and as a couterattack. It sickend him as his last vision revealed that tearing the pages could then be used to choke someones life away. Quickly he replaced the book and continued his search.

Meanwhile.....
Lucian smiled, teh small almost invisible plugg in his ear telling him of Ivellias's succes as hepaced ujp and down solemly along the book shelves before stopping suddenly, turning and looking side to side as somethign rolled over his senses.
a few moments of waiting tensly and with nothing happening he stood and continued walking down the aisle and into the tiny reading alcove, nodding politely to the two already there,a man and a woman. He tilted hsi head for a moment as he sat, stilling as if something disturbed him, looking back at the twomgiving a slight frow when they arent looking before shrugging, placing the book on his lap, opening it.the spine says in gothic, scrawled letters spelling Draculla ,of course.

She continued to browse but there was just this feeling that she couldn't shake..

Her fingertips brushed the old worn bindings of the history books, she hadn't felt this way in a long time...not since...

She shook her head, grabbed a random book and headed for the reading lounge at the end of the section.

She slid into one of the large, overstuffed leather chairs and flipped open the volume.

Sun Tzu's The Art of War

She chuckled, and began to read, hoping the familiarity of this volume would help the feeling in the pit of her stomach pass...

Rock sighed as he closed up another Chinese Mythology book. He picked up all of the books he read, and carried them back to the shelf where he grabed them, passing the leather chairs along his way.

Without even looking, he placed them back and grabed a few Japanese Mythology books, hoping to find out a little more about his family's role in history. His ears were still twitching, but he just ignored it for the time being, knowing they would calm soon.

Rock turned around and walked back to his table, once again searching the books for anything that would help him.

Ivellias was enjoying himself Immensly .
So far 4,maybe 5 of these pitiful london gargoyles had fallen to his hands, crumbled to dust, their pathetic amount of power barely enough to keep the things moving for the Creator's sake.though semi-intelligent and slow moving, they did however prove somme of a challenge, and besides,it was always a good thing to allow a weak prey some chance of escape,he though to himself as he slipped up to teh roof of another building silently, grabbing the sixth gargoyle of teh night by the head and crushing it to powder easily, its blue esseces gathering into his palm almost happily as he stored it into the now almsot full container.

Mia browsed through the shelfs for something that would interest her. Sure, comics were fun, but it could only keep her contained for so long. "Lets see," she whispered, "what do we have here...." Mia pulled out a large dusty book. She carefully wiped the excess dust off the books title. There it said "Battles in the Colosseum"

Mia grined slightly, her sharp teeth shoing a little. After all, worrens are know to be... Well, battle prone. "This should keep me occupied for a bit."

Once again his search led him to the end of another shelf. He could find nothing that felt right. Even though he only had a feeling to go on, that the answer is in a book somewhere. It had to be, he could not have been the only one who experiences this power. He could not belive his search would lead to no answers.

Perhaps his mind was not clear, he sat down at a nearby table across from a very beatiful woman reading Sun Tzu. He began clearing his head, something didn't want to leave. A small nagging 'itch' in his mind would not clear out. Could this be the answer I need, is it telling me that it is here? What is this I am feeling?

Iona glanced up at the massive form that had taken a seat at a nearby table.
There was a certain air to him...she could feel the warmth flowing over her skin.
Her heart beat faster, what was it about this man that seemed so familiar...she'd never seen his face before.

She set down her book and gave him a look over...he certainly wasn't bad to look at.

She rose and headed over to the table.
"Did you need help finding something?" She asked cooly, "I don't work here persay...but I'd venture to say that I know this place as well as any librarian," she winked.

"Hmm..."

Mia walked over to Rock and sat by him, "What is it?"

"This book is frightningly acurate, I didn't know humans were in those days were this smart..."

"Really? Lemme see." Mia grabed the book from Rock's hands. Rock stood up, stretched and yawned, and searched the area around him. People started to crowd in the area, as if they were being drawn to something.

'Uh-oh...' Rock thought, 'something interesting may just go down here...'

As he locked eyes with the woman, he felt nothing. The itch that nagged at the back of his mind stopped in the instant he met her eyes. He wondered exactly what that meant and although he could not comprehend why he knew but this was no chance encounter. Something had led him to this exact spot and moment in time without even realizeing it. Perhaps this is how he would learn, not from a book but from people. He shook the thoughts from his head, she needed a response.

"I am trying to find a certain book," he replied his voice a full baritone. "But I have no idea what it is or where it might be." He chuckled slightly at the way he sounded, a fool in a fools world.

She smiled as he spoke, reaching out to touch his hand she felt a familiar spark...

"Well...lets go for a walk and we'll see what we can find..."

As they walked past where she'd set her book she paused to pick it up with her free hand.

She guided him through art and literature, past the science and reference section into the massive history section that took up more than a third of the floor.

She turned to study his reactions as they wandered through the aisles,

"I'm Iona by the way..." her voice trailed off as they neared the section she'd been heading for in the first place, "see anything that strikes your fancy?"
