this last weekend of summer

as we ride through the countryside
like children...
riding to freedom...
finding adventure in the waning days of summer
before school starts again.

the sweet deliciousness
dripping down our chins

kissing each other
between licks and bites...
your chocolate swirl
my salted caramel

Biking into the parklands
far away from the crowds
until we find a vista...

And we stop...

the breeze so perfect...
