Wording has been to the effect that 'plants MAY close' depending on how contract talks go' , etc. Someone should be able to pull something out of a recent NPR article/interview with the Mighty Miss Mary.

Prolonged the recession by destroying investor confidence in corporate bonds, just for starters. Contributed heavily to Democrats is reason enough.

Same reason I would hope that Davis Bacon gets repealed and more States pass right-to-work legislation.

Nonsense. The plants are redundant. They were never going to sell enough units because the American public doesn't want what Obama was selling. As it is the price of every other car in their lineup had to be increased to cover the losses that they are experiencing from building those. They were only keeping the plants open to meet the Obama Cafe standards. Even if they had to sell units at a loss in order to meet the cafe targets. That's how Cafe works you build little bitty cars in great numbers cheaply to make up for the pricey cars that people actually want.

General Motors builds and sells 2/3 of their fleet outside of the United States. Eventually there will be no US production.
