Hi!

I'm looking for a good source for glove soft leather lingerie and accessories. My partner and I discovered that my workout gloves affect her strongly...
so I trusted some of you might have good places to search.

Thanks for your help.

S.

PS. And I know the folks on this board would be best informed ;)

The softest leather I own is Kid Goat leather gloves. We are talking melting soft, second skin.

Perhaps google 'goat leather + apparel'.

Thanks, rebecca.

Mmmm... I like 'melting soft second skin.'

I'd googled leather and lingerie, but wasn't certain about the softness. I found http://www.eleathershop.com/corset_thong.asp

and they had a description of the different leathers they use. I don't want to get more rigid leather like a collar or cuffs would be made from.
Sheep Napa soft is their description for much of their lingerie.

Has anyone purchased from a North American supplier they'd recommend...?

Appreciatively,
S.

Try a local leather shop, and I don't mean BDSM type leather. We've got one here locally that can easily get in all sorts of different styles of leather.

If you ar elooking for gloves, go to a high end tailor in your area. I bought a piar of napa gloves recently. They cost a bit (nearly $70) but were incredible.

Thanks, H.

An interesting suggestion to use a local specialty leather shop. I might pursue this in future, short term I'd prefer to be lazy and order online.

I'll keep an eye out locally.

Whe it comes to tactile sensations, and expensive leather, I want to touch it before I buy it, period.

My suggestion would be to buy your own supple leather and have someone work it for you.

Picturing...

That's exactly the idea...

> imagining my partner clad in supple leather and 'working it' for me.

Or, ummmm, I guess that's not exactly what you're suggesting...?
;)

Truthfully, that's a bit more involvement than I'm up for. If she enjoys the first pieces as much as I think she will..., then she can find someone to do more.

[Thinking, but not saying... "Let's not forget who serves whom in this relationship." ]

But I very much appreciate the suggestion, BB.

Certainly a preference I'd hold toward a partner, makes sense for leather too I guess. I'm reading return policies closely to deal with this issue. I also am concerned about getting the fit just right as well.

We're in horse country here, and most leather work I've seen is more toward the bridle and saddle variety. We're planning a weekend in Montreal, NYC or San Francisco, and I imagine the shopping possibilities are wider.

I'm curious what sort of pieces you've had tailored H? I could picture asking for the gloves, but high end tailors around here mostly look like older guys in suit pants and ties. Requesting a thong or other pieces seems like it would be a stretch....

I've not. I do my own leatherwork. I've not worked with soft leathers for anything but floggers though, so I'm not the guy to talk to about that stuff. My leather work tends towards the funtional, sturdy, and unfriendly end of the spectrum, not the supple and happy end.

That said, the fellow that I'm thinking of has been known to do all sorts of custom orders. I would assume that working in custom leather, and not being in horse country, you would probably have to be open minded.

Oh, I also know of a local shop that sells bondage and fetish gear, and the owner will custom order bulk leather for her clients. You might try something like that, assuming you have 'leather and lace' sort of establishment somewhere nearby.
