From the title, I thought this was about the article in the NY Times.
That's... sobering.

I always love climate change deniers using extreme weather events to justify their bullshit. The irony is over 9000.
there's not a damned thing you can do about it.
^^^Satan's Spawn weighs in on his compelling Deplorable case for inaction.
His world view is reflected in his signature:
"The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" Jeremiah 17:9
There are many systems of philosophy and political life which try to base law and all human relationships upon the nature of man. Man is made the measure of all things. All such systems, whether communism or humanism, or socialism, are doomed to fail because of one fatal flaw: they do not recognize the sinful, self-centered nature of man. They ignore God and deify man.
So, forget about science. Just pay attention to Satan's political concept of "God".
That’s too many words for BB and AJ to read. You expect too much. So, Fuzzy, are you saying you are fuzzy on the principle of the greenhouse effect? This is definitely not as abstract as trying to determine the genesis of the universe
What Sean said earlier in this thread describes what is happening: When you add more and more energy to any system, you see increasingly extreme changes. When you retain more heat energy in the earth's biosphere, you get more weather extremes, including changes that can radically change the movement of cooled air and moisture from polar regions. However, the overall cause of these changes is gradual global warming because of an atmospheric greenhouse effect that is increased by greenhouse gas ("GHG") emissions.
GHGs include Carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) that has been released by human activity at an increasing rate from sequestered carbon states into the atmosphere in a relatively short period of time, like within the last couple hundred years (since the beginning of the industrial age). A couple hundred years is a relatively short period of time to release huge amounts of carbon in a gaseous form when you consider that it took hundreds of thousands of years to accumulate the mostly subterranean carbon resources that make up the so-called fossil fuels.
So yeah, retaining more energy on a worldwide scale within an atmospheric canopy that traps more energy from the sun because of GHGs is indeed a global warming phenomenon.
----------------------
Dumbasses will look for any excuse or anecdote to deny the basic science about global warming, or they will admit the science but say it's too late or too inconvenient to their short-term economic interests to do anything about it.
Dumbasses think that a single lifetime is forever, and old dumbasses don't care about what happens after they die. Addressing GHG emissions is becoming more of a generational conflict. "OK boomer" tee shirts reflect this generational conflict in a humorous way that dumbasses can't quite grasp.

nah. he's just a boring old nihilist.
So then by this very same metric, since October was the hottest October on record, global warming does exist.
Apparently the OP wants to conflate weather with climate.
OP, if you don't want to be thought of as an idiot, then don't post idiocy.
Please link to throngs. This is clearly a huge blow to the throngs of people who have been predicting that it would never be cold anywhere on Earth ever again.
I don't understand how anyone with even a general knowledge of world history doesn't grasp how we've been poisoning the air and water since the industrial revolution and how that would affect the balance of nature.
Well, aren’t you Mister Riddles. How many ice ages have there been and are they on a cycle?
During an ice age cycle are there typically brief warming periods?
When did the last ice age end?
Are we in an ice age during a warming cycle?
To prevent global cooling as the current ice age once again expands it's reach would it be possible for humans to warm the planet enough to ward off the doom of the approaching be freeze?
If you don't really know the answer to the above questions please do some research before you resume name calling.
Please link to throngs.
Sorry, try that again, in English this time. You haven't seem throngs of believers?
Attendance down at Green Mass lately?

I think the jury’s already in regarding the OP being considered an idiot.
Great point - excellent logic and use of facts
