All week long... Things have been said about Bowie and Rickman on the radio, here... My store manager, she also has a band... She knew Lemmy. she said he did drink a lot but he was a real sweetheart

Seems to go in groups.
We just had a 92 yo swing band musician die on NYE here. He was well known.
My social club always hired him for dances.
Now we get some newer music hopefully.
I went to a NYE dance where they had an ABBA style band. It was great dressing in 60s costumes etc. Men wore Afro wigs. It was hilarious.
There's more to life than swing music.
If I can dance by myself to it, I'm in!
Every morning, I dance insanely to two songs, do some hand weights, some stretches....10 minutes and done.
If a person does not drink or smoke or take drugs, they'll get into their 80s easily. If no accidents. Several friends have died starting in my 30s and onward because they believe the hype that the drugs and alcohol will make them happy. I've never seen that result from drugs and alcohol.
Okay, I'll just give it up. Happy is something you decide to be. No one makes you happy. No substance makes you happy. I saw people in India who were deformed, crippled, poor, destitute and they were happy.
Look at the beautiful and rich people in the media. They get divorced. Drug addicts. Problem children. If being beautiful and rich makes people happy, why aren't these people happy?
If being married makes people happy, why do spouses cheat?
If being thin makes people happy, why do thin people commit suicide?
This is a new year. Think a new way.
Write down every single thing that you believe makes you happy.
Now realize that each thing you wrote down is a lie.
People are happy because they chose to be happy.
That's it.
You can do all the research you want on the Internet about happiness..
The happiest man in the world is a Buddhist monk. They measured his brain waves and when he concentrates on compassion and happiness, his left frontal lobe just lights up. That is where happiness is generated in the human brain. How did he get so happy?
Practice.
Intent.
He has no possession, no sex but he decided to be happy.
And he is.
He is ultimately happy.
I've met retarded people that are happy and geniuses that are miserable.
There's a guy here that won the lottery three times. Millions of dollars. He and his wife have ongoing law suits with their children. Their children hate them both. The lottery winners are suing for access to the grandkids. The children of the millionaires want some of the money. The lottery winners think since they won it, the money is theirs alone.
Nobody in that family is happy.
They all could decide to be happy, but they don't.
Ever see eagles feeding on spawned salmon? There will be hundreds of fish carcasses to eat, but several eagles will fight over one dead fish. Dozens of dead fish will be next to the one the eagles are fighting over, but they are ignored.
Stupid birds.
Don't be a bird brain.
Decide to be happy.

It's been a tough couple weeks...

The first report I heard was he had been fighting 'intestinal issues' for some time, then it was announced he died do to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I have a dear friend who has RA and she takes a designer 'Bio-Genic" drug (Embrel, one shot per week) and one of the warnings is potentially developing legions in the bowels (large intestine) and it happened to her. She was Hospitalized in ICU for 13 hours and nearly lost her life before they got her stable enough to remove 2/3 of her colon. 8 days in the Hospital - 10 weeks at-home recovery and on a colostomy bag.

I bet the medicine caused Glen Frey's death.
