I am writing a series, and much of the action involves attending Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Transgendered Alliance meetings. I have never been to one of them, but I have been to many twelfth step meetings, and I am using them as a model. That is, the members sit around a table, and a moderator calls on one of them, and that person stands up and announces something like, "My name is George, and I am an alcoholic." Then that person goes on to say something about himself, or express an opinion, or whatever. There was also a social aspect to the meetings, but that was less important.
What I am asking, would an ordinary GLBTA meeting go something like that? This would be a regularly scheduled meeting, not a group meeting called for a specific purpose.
