Glasses as a fetish object...

I had a random thought as I was getting ready to go out earlier...

Do you think the incresing focus on things like Lasik/vision correction surgery will have an impact on glasses as a fetish object? It seems like so many people are having their vision corrected through surgery these days; I am one of the few people I know who still wears them. Will glasses eventually become so uncommon a thing that it increases the interest in those who wear them?

I should always wear them, but I tend to only put them on for driving/running errands/etc, as I'm able to function without them about 80% of the time... black framed "librarian style" modern cat eyes, BTW.

You may be right but not for a long time I think; as it is still a fairly expensive option to have your eyes lasered and also there are still risks so a few people are choosing not to have it done. They may get classified as 'worn by poor people' before they are likely to become fetish items.
I need glasses only for reading and invested in a couple of rather 'sexy' pairs which always get a reaction when I am seen in them so I can definitely connect with the whole fetish type feeling.

I love that stereotypical 'secretary' look too (or librarian?! Cutiemouse?! of removing glasses and unpinning and tossing a thick main of glossy hair ....again...so sexy. Unforunately I neither suit glasses (I have worn them) or have the hair lol

I think there will always be people who have fetishes about them and I guess as more people do take up the laser surgery option, they will become more desirable and sought after as a fetish object.

If I wore them, whether I had had surgery or wore contacts....I'd definitely be hanging on to a pair or two lol

I have to say that I find glasses to be very sexy. On the other hand, I hate mine. LOL On the bright side, their's no way, at any time in the future, I will be able to afford lasik, so . . . I guess I'm stuck with it.

Yuk, I don't have an aesthetic problem with wearing mine (lol, after 42 years with them as a permanent fixture you get past that), but I hate wearing them because it just is not the same as having good sight. In Oz they were hot and increased the discomfort of humidity, not to mention changing the shape of the nose over the decades and always sliding a little after a few hours, continual need to wash them throughout the day (and make sure you dry carefully so they don't scratch)...and of course there is the problem of reflections which hinder at times, frames around what you are looking at, the need to lift them these days in an effort to see things better if I hold whatever it is up to my face, bumping into things with them which can be an ouch, and they are damn expensive. I would love to wake up and be able to see the world without reaching for my glasses before geting out of bed just so I can see more than 2 inches in front of my face. I have been told laser is not an option for me, so I am stuck with them even though they no longer give me clear vision....so for me, fetish? Nah, just a pain in the butt and then some.

Sometimes it drives me batty, because you can't do sexy librarian half way. The whole outfit has to be sexy librarian. So I end up wearing contacts the other half of the week.
