Gilligan is dead

I saw an interview with him a few years ago. He & his wife had retired to coastal North Carolina. Other than some hilarity when he'd rent a fishing boat for the day, he was doing well.

I remember Maynard quite well but he will always be Gilligan to me. He was also Rufus Butterworth of "The Good Guys" and Dusty of "Dusty's Trail", essentially a remake of Gilligan.

I'm glad he lived to see 70, but that's still too young to go. He will always hold a special spot in the memories of my youth, both as Maynard and as Gilligan.
