Hello Ann, the shots are digital, I would use film if I could afford it. I like how one can control so many of the variables.

My Phalaenopsis orchids are grown as houseplants in a southward facing window. I have most of my cattleya's and dendrobiums outside hanging in the trees. If we have cold approaching a frost they come inside or an outside closet that does not drop to freezing.
 
The Baja Breeze is very striking. I can see why it is one of your favorites.

I am in zone 5, the closets in the house get down to freezing!

Yikes! That sounds very cold. How do you get out of bed in the morning? *shudder* Lol I am a whimp when it comes to cold. I have this one as a house plant right now.
 
This is an old photo edited and cleaned up. it was taken with my old camera and was slightly out of focus. It is the subject matter that caught my eye. It is one reason that I am obsessed with Phalaenopsis equestris is scenes like this. Only one of the three blooming flower spikes was in this photo. This plant sadly died of a mealybug infestation but I have two young ones coming along.

I use a digital lumix camera with leica lenses. Typically I use morning light for the orchid and flower shots. I find the color is more intense and vibrant.
I use my zoom and wide angle settings in my landscapes depending on what is needed. lol I am sorry I cannot give more. Right now I am itching to upgrade so that I can change lenses and have more flexibility and diversity with my shots. If I had the money I would go with film, but with my budget. *sigh*
 
Very nice.....I'm a big fan of sunrises and sunsets along with flowers and wildlife. Time and money are all I lack.:)
