It is amazing what may be under our noses and everyday we walk by never noticing that beauty lies before us in all kinds of places. This is a small yellow flower in the yard less than a centimeter across..not too noticeable until one takes a closer look, probably a species of Oxalis I will find out and amend this post later.

One of my early photo classes we had to shoot three rolls focusing just on backgrounds. It was brutal but really helped learn to see every element of a photo.

lol I could benefit from such training. Many times I use the editing process to make a photo better when had I done it with greater planning and study I could have saved myself a lot of work. The use of lights and back drops for instance.

On the roadside are small flowers that grow....most of us are oblivious to them.

I am using a digital camera Panasonic DMC-TZ3 Lumix with leica optics. I wish I had to money to invest in proper equitement. The focus is hit and miss meaning one relies on the cameras ability to focus on the object intended...very much a lesson in frustration. This particular camera does pretty good most of the time, my success rate is high. Todays challenge was high wind gusts whipping the little flowers about as I tried to shoot them. But I have to admit , I do not show my failures .
