Original Japanese "Ring" (or Ringu).

Has the scariest scene in any film I've seen (which was botched in the US remake)

The Changeling is very good. It has one of the creepiest scenes I've seen in a movie. Not bloody creepy, spine tingling creepy.

The Others was very good as well. :)

Yikes, yes! On both.

A classic awake-all-night-with-the-heebie-jeebies movie is the 1963 version of The Haunting, based on Shirley Jackson's book, "The Haunting of Hill House." A 90's remake of the same film was sheer silliness, but the original still figures in an occasional nightmare.

"The Shining" is beaucoup creepy...due in no small part to Jack Nicholson.

"Poltergeist" is creepy too. The scene in the bathroom with the mirror...Gah!

Excessive blood and gore are a turn-off to me...I prefer more subtle menaces. ;)

Hum.....Should I be afraid?

I used to think Psycho was the ultimate is creepy, freaky edge-of-your-seat cinema. I saw it again after many years just recently. I was quite disappointed.

But then, I picked the plot twist for The Others about halfway through the film and the only interest left was how long it would take for Kidman's character to catch on.

The Grudge was the freakiest movie I have ever seen. It freaked me out and I love scary movies.

One more thing does anyone know how to get the pic on the left side under my name tars xxx

Once you have 50 posts, Lit allows you to choose an Avatar to go under your name. You add it by going to your Control Panel and clikcing on "Edit Avatar". It can't be bigger than 150 X 150 Pixels.

I'm sleepy. I'm going back to bed.
