"I have asked. Weekly, practically," Alban chuckled. "She just waves me off most of the time, says she doesn' need some self-important priest decidin' we're together."

"I will put together a lovely surprise ceremony for the two of you and Siobhan. She won't say no then." Julia said, giving him a smile. "It'll be our little secret."

"But you'll have a smile on your face the entire time." Julia said with a chuckle. "I swear that woman doesn't know what's for her own good sometimes."

"She's happy, though. We're content, and we'll get Siobhan there too." Alban smiled to Julia. "And what about you? You and Brogan's only worries seem to be your children."

"Kate the most right now. However, she is grown and married and capable of holding her own against anyone. My concern is for my youngest twins. Heather struggles but we are trying so hard to let her do what she needs to learn how to be independent." Julia said as she glanced over towards Alban. "A little like you and Siobhan."

"But we don't have a Samuel t'help Siobhan along," Alban nodded. Sam had been an incredibly important part of helping Heather along. Ciaran was always the caretaker and Kell often entertained the girls, but Sam specifically seemed to be Heather's rock.

"Trust me, Alban. There was a lot of things I wish could change with Sam." Julia said with a long sigh. "He is a good boy but I wish he would let go of that guilt that keeps him bound to so many things."

"Migh' not be you tha' helps 'im get past it. But I think 'e'll be okay in the end. He's a good lad, jus' needs t'make sure 'e doesn' push away help when it comes."

"And I need to make sure that he simply doesn't hide behind something. He's very good at that." Julia said as they came to the keep gates. "Thank you for walking with me, Alban. Now, go see Chessie and tell her all about Siobhan's first day like the proud father that I know you are."

Julia chuckled Alban instantly went off to find Chessie. Julia entered the keep and grinned as she was greeted with two very excited little girls. She instantly scooped them both up, kissing their cheeks.

"What has happened, my loves?" She asked them, nuzzling against Heather's cheek as Ashelin babbled and pointed off towards her father's office. "Did he spoil you today? Shall we go and see what he's up to?"

She took both of the girls down the hall towards Brogan's office, opening the door with her hip and grinning when she saw her husband. "What has them so excited?"

Brogan turned with a smile, rising from his chair to come and kiss all three of them. "Went out fer a bit an' might've had a little adventure."

"What kind of adventure?" Julia asked as Ashelin went into her father's arms instantly, hugging him tightly as Heather buried her face against her mother's throat.

"Ride with Phearson, explored th'market, got a treat on th'way. An' Ashelin made a few new friends."

"And what about you, sweet one? Did you make any friends?" Julia whispered to Heather as the little girl just held her tightly and dozed against her shoulder.

"Heather met a sheep dog tha' belonged to the other children, seemed pretty content with him." Brogan smiled and turned his attention to Ashelin, brushing her hair back.

"Perhaps we should look into getting them a pet then." Julia said as Ashelin gave her father a grin when he brushed back her curly black hair with his hand. "Maybe when they're a bit older and Kate is more settled. We still don't know how often we'll be traveling between Inverness and Edinburgh."

"A dog could move with us, wouldn' be a problem." Brogan settled back into his chair with a smile to Julia. "How'd things go in th'village?"

"She had a lot of children show up. It seems as if there are a lot of people excited." Julia said as she took a seat by the fire, letting Heather drift into sleep against her shoulder. "Rho was in the middle of everything and Sam was the serious student as usual. Chessie even sent Siobhan, even if she was completely hesitant about everything happening."

"It'll be good t'have tha' language more widespread. It'll make Inverness even more welcoming."

"Spend some time with the boys when they return. I think it'll do them some good to know that we're proud of them for wanting to do this." Julia said softly as Ashelin sat in her father's lap and played with various items on his desk.

"Gladly." Brogan watched over Ashelin and let her have a quill and paper. "Any idea where Kate and Kell disappeared off to? I went to talk with Kate an' they were already gone."

"I have no idea, love. She has a list of things she wants to do before they leave for Edinburgh. They're probably off having an adventure." Julia said as Ashelin entertained herself with the quill and ink pot.

"I suppose tha's one word for it. Those two like t'disappear at a moment's notice." Brogan took a second quill and began drawing for Ashelin.
