"Thank you for giving me a chance. You lost everything and you still wanted to love me." She murmured as he wrapped her up in a tight hug.

Kell could only smile and nuzzle against her once more before relaxing completely at her side with a content sigh. He wasn't tired, but he felt lazy and content.

Kate snuggled against her husband, a smile on her face as she rested her cheek against his chest. She dozed as Kell held her, simply content to be with him in that moment.

Kell would normally rise with the sun to go and tend to business and take his horse out, but that morning, he remained with Kate without a worry in the world.

Kate was sound asleep next to her husband as the sun rose, perfectly content to not move a muscle that day. In the great hall, Julia was up with the sun, taking care of the twins who seemed to be in a good mood that day. True to her word, Kitty had dressed Heather in her comfortable pajamas and the little girl wasn't making a bit of fuss.

Julia had to laugh when Brogan came to join them, her husband sitting quietly with them while looking off in the direction of Kell's tower room. "Love, you probably won't see her for quite some time. When she's ready, she'll make some time for you."

Brogan sighed, wrapping an arm around Julia. "I know... I know. It's jus' hard t'believe still..." He turned to scoop Heather up and help Julia to distract himself.

"Can you handle these two on your own? I'm going to go help Vincenzo finish packing up to go to Inverlochly. He's surprising your Ma." Julia said softly as he scooped up Heather to distract himself from Kate.

"We'll be alright," Brogan nodded, looking between his daughters and smiling as Ashelin reached for him.

"Spoil them." Julia said as she kissed his cheek and left the twins to her husband, Ashelin snuggling against her father as he scooped her up.

When Kate finally did wake for breakfast and she and Kell made their way to the great hall, she was greeted with the sounds of two little girls squealing in delight. The smallest Invernessian princesses were hiding with each other behind one of the large chairs while their father playfully sought them. Ashelin held Heather's hand, both of the little girls trying to stifle their laughter with tiny hands. It was absolutely charming, considering both were still in pajamas.

For the lordly lion Brogan could be in front of a court and officials, he certainly didn't mind chasing his little girls around or being outfoxed by their antics. Kell watched with a little smile as Brogan managed to fool the girls, coming from the opposite direction they'd expected. He seized them in his arms with a deep laugh, kissing their cheeks.

Heather was laughing hard from her belly, the happiest smile on her face as Brogan scooped them up again. Ashelin was much the same. Despite their struggles with Heather's eyesight, it seemed that she was a happy little girl.

"I see it didn't take them long to move in on my territory." Kate said with a grin at her father.

"Well, he moved in on mine," Brogan chuckled with a nod toward Kell as the Wolf came to take Heather and nuzzle her with a smile.

"You survived." Kate said as she kissed her father's cheek and smile as Kell nuzzled against Heather. "Hey now. Don't be stealing my husband as well."

Kell smirked at Kate, kissing Heather's forehead before asking, "Jealous already, eldere?" Brogan reached out to smooth Heather's hair back.

"Stealin' hearts already," Brogan chuckled before wrapping his free arm around Kate, Ashelin against his chest.

"I'm not the jealous sort, Kell." Kate said as her father wrapped his arm around her. "I know I can always leave you and come back home if you find someone else."

"Unlikely, love. And besides, I wouldn't last long. Your family would have a race to find me and skin me," Kell came to kiss her sweetly.

Kate chuckled as Kell kissed her sweetly. She knew her wolf would never, ever betray her or her family's trust. "You just remember that."

"I'm so hungry after yesterday, I think I could eat my horse. Did you eat yet, Da? You can join us." Kate said, looking up at her father with a smile as Ashelin hugged him tightly and leaned her head on his shoulder.

"You two're late, most everyone's 'ad breakfast already," Brogan smiled, stroking his fingers through Ashelin's hair. "Chessie'll see t'you. I think these little lasses're ready t'go play with some cousins."

At the mention of cousins, Ashelin perked up. Heather didn't do much save for hug Kell a little tighter.

"Puppy." Heather said, telling her Da that she wanted to go see Justin.

"We'll see what 'e's up to," Brogan nodded to Heather before Kell let him take her.

Kell kissed each girl's forehead before Brogan stepped away, then he turned to Kate with a smile.

Kate grinned as her father turned to take the little girls to get ready for their day. Before he could get too far away, she left Kell's side and wrapped her father up in a hug. She kissed his cheek as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I love you, Da." She murmured, giving him a small smile as he couldn't return her hug with her sisters in his arms. "And I know this is hard but I want you to know that I'm happier than I've ever been."

"I know, love. An' I'm happy for you." Brogan kissed her forehead. "I'll be alright. I'll adjust."

Ashes in hugged her father tight as he kissed her sister, knowing that he felt sad about something but not really understanding why. Kate chuckled and brushed her dark curls out of her face.

"Take care of him for me, love." Kate whispered to Ashelin. "He needs us women to keep him honest."

Brogan hugged his two youngest daughters closer, smiling to Kate before heading out. Kell came to wrap his arms around Kate's waist from behind, laying his head on her shoulder.

"He breaks my heart but I know it's all part of growing up." She said softly as Kell wrapped his arms around her from behind, holding her tightly. "I just hope he makes it through the coronation."
