"I suppose we'll have to focus on packing up our belongings soon." Kate said as she settled into bed as Kell joined her and they got comfortable. "And getting everything to Edinburgh. After the coronation, I can set about decorating our private quarters."

"There's no rush. We have time," Kell assured her. "Don't worry about that for tonight, eldere." He nuzzled against her neck adoringly.

"You say that, but time will go fast. Before we know it, I'll be crowned and we'll be busier than we can ever imagine." Kate commented as Kell nuzzled against her neck and she let out a sigh of contentment. "Then you'll be busy with your spies and other things to try and keep me safe."

"I know... I know all too well." Kell closed his eyes, nestled against her comfortably as if nothing had changed.

Kate was soon nuzzled up against Kell, asleep in his embrace after a few moments. She was warm and happy with him, a smile on her face as she enjoyed a nice little nap in her husband's arms.

Kell wasn't far behind, no worries on his mind just for one night.

When Kate woke, it was still dark and Kell was still at her side, but it seemed he might've woken at some point as there was a little tray of leftovers from the feast laying on the table in the corner, and still-warm mulled wine.

Kate looked around the room, the fire still crackling in the fireplace as she spotted the little tray of food. She smiled as she slowly sat up and helped herself to what was there, drinking from a mug of wine until her belly was warm and sated.

It didn't become apparent that Kell was awake until the firelight made his golden eyes gleam, watching her quite contentedly.

"Are you going to eat or just watch me?" Kate asked, looking down at her husband as he watched her with those golden eyes so intently.

"I already did," he murmured, but he slipped from the bed to come and partake in the wine, settling beside her.

"When? I never felt you move." Kate asked as he came to sit beside her, taking in the wine that had been left for the both of them. "That explains why the fire is so high still."

"An hour ago or so. You said you wanted a snack when you woke up." Kell sat back easily. "I'm a trained assassin, love. Of course you didn't know I left." He enjoyed using those stealth skills to surprise and confuse her.

"Good, that means I'm doing my job well," Kell nodded, lifting a hand to smooth her fiery hair back lovingly. "I have to stay interesting somehow."

"You'll be old and boring soon enough. Marriage does that." Kate said with a grin as he smoothed his hand through her thick red hair.

"I'm already old and boring compared to you," he chuckled, leaning in to kiss her cheek. "Nothing but work and rules and no fun at all."

"We have fun." Kate countered as he kissed her cheek. "We have fun together all of the time. Just because we don't show that side of ourselves in public doesn't mean that it doesn't happen."

"I suppose we do... Especially lately," Kell teased with a chuckle. "You certainly surprised me the day before yesterday, pulling me away to experiment."

"You didn't complain in the least." Kate countered. "And I wanted to see if everything you've been doing to me felt as good when I did it to you. It seems my answer is yes if you're still thinking about it."

"It's hard not to enjoy your undivided attention," Kell nuzzled against her again. "And you learn quickly."

"Are you going to take me to bed, Kell? Or are you just going to put your scent on me?" Kate asked him as he continued to nuzzle against her.

"Whatever milady wishes," Kell answered with a little smirk. He took great joy in teasing her about her noble status. He stole a proper kiss then, his hand resting on her thigh.

Kate sighed as her husband kissed her deeply, his hand resting on her naked thigh with such promise. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing against him intimately.

"I trust you, Khelt." Kate said softly as the kiss broke and she was left looking into his amber colored eyes.

"And I'll show you I'm worthy of it," he promised her just above a whisper. Slipping his arms under her, he picked her up and carried her back to her bed. When he laid her back against the sheets, he stole a much more passionate and slow, burning kiss. Though they'd been playing together and exploring as of late, this moment was different. He wanted to take it slow and steady with her, and he knew this would be the night he marked her.

His kisses were like a drug, dulling her senses until she felt a happy and warm glow deep in her belly. She let out a sigh, relaxing against the sheets as her wolf worked to make her comfortable for what they were about to do together. She worked to take off her underclothes for him, shrugging out of the thin material until she was completely bare beneath him.
