Kayla gasped as the snow coated Christopher in a great rush. She then laughed as he brushed the snow from his sleeves, grinning at him as the snow melted slowly in his dark hair. The winter air made her cheeks rosy and her nose slowly turned pink, but her eyes were bright and sparkling as she stared at the man that she thought about often.

“You know, I think the snow suits you, Captain.” She said softly, teasing him in a way that she’d never been brave enough to do before.

"Well, I do look dashing in white, if I do say so myself." He chuckled as he ran a hand back through his hair, leaving it slightly messy, but... better somehow. He met her eyes, and his gaze softened. "Lady Kayla... once this battle's done, think you should consider visiting Ireland. I'm sure you'd find as much enchantment there as in Scotland... if not more." He couldn't quite say that he wanted her to come with him personally.

Kayla again turned shy as Christopher suggested that she come to Ireland once the battle was done. She so badly wanted to say yes but something kept her from giving him the answer that he wanted to hear. He had just asked her to come for a visit, not to come and visit him. She wanted to hear him ask for what he wanted.

“I would have to ask Brogan.” She said softly. She always deferred to her brothers in times like this. They had practically raised her from the time that she was a small child and she enjoyed knowing their opinions.

"Well, if... you do decide to come... my home is open to you to stay. In fact, I'd be honored if you'd be my guest," he offered a clearly nervous smile. "You're always welcome."

"Kayla!" Kitty's call came from afar. "Don' stay out too long with yer lover! Same goes fer you, Christopher!"

Christopher's face turned completely red at that

Kayla lowered her head at the sound of her mother’s voice calling out to her from the keep. She turned a bright shade of red and sneaked a peak at Christopher before she found the courage to speak again.

“I’m sorry about my family.” She said softly, reaching out to touch his arm gently. “They mean well, but they’re all so nosy.”

Christopher looked toward where Kitty disappeared back inside, and as Kayla touched his arm, he caught her hand and kissed her cheek. "I've been meaning to ask you for some time, Lady Kayla, I... No, I'd be a fool to ask..." He pulled back before he let himself ask.

“Ask me what, Captain?” Kayla asked softly, surprised when he caught her hand and leaned in to kiss her cheek. She wondered just what he was going to ask her and she held her breath in anticipation to what his words might be. “You can ask me anything…Christopher.”

"Would you consider... would you let me..." He sighed at himself and started again, kneeling before her like the gentleman he was. "Milady Kayla... would you give me the honor of coming to court you? I want the chance to see if... if I might be to your liking. If you might one day consider me to... to become your husband."

Kayla was stunned for a brief moment and then a luminous smile crossed her face, brightening her already sunny features. Her heart skipped a beat as she stared down at her handsome Captain and she found herself nodding furiously at the thought of courting him.

“I would like that very much, Captain.” She said, holding out her hand to him and pulling him back to his feet. “I feel though…well, I feel that I already find you to be to my liking. I think I’ve always felt that way about you.”

"I could say the exact same about you, milady," he answered as he rose, the brightest smile she'd ever seen apparent on his handsome face.

"Since I first met you at Lord Stephen's first visit here, you've been close to my heart... but we were both children then. You were hardly ten years old and I, only thirteen. It wasn't til you were sixteen that I realized I wanted to ask you, but... I was always afraid that you or your family wouldn't approve."

Kayla had never seen a smile more bright then the one that her handsome Captain was giving her just that moment. She had always felt the same way about him as well and it made her feel butterflies in the pit of her stomach.

“You never have anything to fear from me, Captain.” She said shyly before she moved forward and wrapped her arms around his chest, hugging him tightly.

From the keep, Julia stood in the doorway and watched the two young lovers embrace. The feel of a thick arm wrapping around her own waist had her looking up towards Brogan with a smile. She stood on her toes and pressed a kiss to his cheek before she pressed herself against his warm side.

“It looks like your sister had fallen in love. Just don’t be too hard on the Captain, alright?” Julia asked of him.

"Oh, he'll jus' get th'usual warnin' tha' if 'e breaks 'er heart, I'll break 'im too." Brogan chuckled before laying an adoring kiss at her neck. "But forget 'em, I wan' a little time with you t'myself. It's been too hectic 'round 'ere lately fer my likin', an' we won' 'ave any time t'gether soon."

With that, he scooped Julia up and carried her away to the library where all was quiet.

Julia let out a squeal and laughed as she looped her arms around her husband’s neck as he scooped her up and carried her into the library. She kissed him in earnest as he found his way into the library and soon she was sitting on a padded sofa, her arms still wrapped around her husband tightly.

“I’ve missed you, love.” Julia said softly, kissing him again with a little sigh.

"How so?" He asked gently, sliding her up onto his lap so he could have her as close as possible. He still moved her as if she was as light as a feather. He lifted a hand to run back through her beautiful locks before kissing her neck again. He'd been wanting her lately, and she knew it. But he didn't try anything as he wasn't sure if she was ready.

Julia sighed softly as Brogan slipped his hand through her hair and then pressed a kiss to her throat. She shivered and pressed her own lips to his cheek. Resting her forehead against his, her green eyes found his dark gaze and held it for a long moment. She wanted him in the most primal way a woman could want a man, but she hesitated. All she could see was Wick hovering over her as he raped her. She felt tears rising in her eyes, her cheeks blushing with shame as she struggled to come to terms with what had happened to the both of them.

“I want you to love me, Brogan.” She said softly, wishing that he would quit treating her like she would break any moment. “I want you to undress me and take me right here in the library and I don’t want you to think about what happened when you do.”

Brogan brought his hand to her cheek and he offered a smile, "Julia... 'aven't ya learned yet? When I'm makin' love t'you... I forget everythin' else but 'ow much I love ya an' 'ow much I need an' want ya." With another kiss to her lips, he rose and set her on her feet, letting his hands slip around to her back to pull the laces of her dress loose with practiced ease. He pressed close to her and he chuckled softly. "Y'know... whene'er we're jus' like this... all I can think of is dancin' with ya... a real dance, the kind I wan' t'have in a reception after a real weddin', one where we get married again fer love an' leave b'hind th' past... After all, third time's th'charm, aye, love?" He laid his forehead against hers once more as he let her dress pool around her ankles when it fell from her body. "An' y'know... I've always undressed ya, darlin'... but you've ne'er undressed me."

When she was naked and in her husband’s arms, she let out a long sigh and stared into his dark gaze. Had she heard him right, she asked herself.

“Another wedding, Brogan?” She was breathless at the thought of actually planning her own wedding and without the interference of her mother and father. “You would really have another wedding for me?”

She kissed him then, pressing her lips against his with a whimper before he pulled away and reminded her that she had never undressed him. She actually blushed at the thought of undressing her husband even though they had been married well over a year. She was soon pulling away the leather of his belts, allowing them to drop to the seat they had just been upon. After that, she pulled at his tunic, pulling it up and over his head before her fingers dropped to the tie at his trousers.

"Another wedding, jus' fer us an' no' fer anyone else's sake... One tha' y'can be happy for, tha' we can enjoy without th'worry o' expectations... An' after that, we'll 'ave our honeymoon in Inverlochly, jus' th'two of us with no one but th'horses we'll be ridin' out t'the loch fer company. An' when we're there, I'll lay ya down in th'grass an' make love t'ya like it's my last chance..."

As her hands came to rest at the buttons of his trousers, he kissed her again and he fell to his knees before her, looking up at her like the Goddess he often told her she was. Such softness and love in the features of such a hard man... He drew her in closer and he laid a kiss against her belly, his voice rumbling, "I love you, Julia... Gods, I do... Nothin's ever come close t'the way I love you..."

He let his hands trail down her sides, down her hips before they came to rest against her thighs. He leaned in, his tongue lapping gently at her waiting folds, aiming to pleasure her before himself.

Julia gasped as Brogan suddenly fell to his knees before her, looking up at her with a look that told her how much she truly meant to her husband. She ran her fingers through his thick hair as he pressed his lips against her belly and professed his love to her. Again, he brought tears to her eyes, making her tremble with the need and want in his voice.

Before she knew it, he had gripped her thighs and his tongue was slipping through her wet folds. She whimpered, her fingers curling tight in his thick hair as his tongue made sweet love to her body. She watched him so closely, her green eyes showing her desire as he tasted her to intimately.

With each second, his tongue delved further into her blossom, seeking more of her. He shifted closer, guiding her leg over his shoulder to open her thighs to him. He soon found her sensitive clit, and his lips surrounded it, suckling with need and all the devotion he could show her in such an action. Soon his fingers came to play at her wet entrance, one slipping into her to start.

His eyes were half-closed as he focused on her, but he looked up at her now and then finding deep satisfaction in how she looked upon him.

Julia trembled as he spread her legs wide, supporting her as he surrounded her clit with his lips and suckled upon it. She rocked her hips against his mouth, whimpering as he pressed a finger deep into her body and began to please her that way as well.

“Oh, love…just like that.” She murmured, letting him know that she was enjoying everything that he was doing.

He soon slipped a second finger inside her, stretching her walls for his cock to enter later. Surprisingly, Brogan let this last longer than usual, though he was sure to still leave her wanting more another time. He shed his trousers when he rose, immediately capturing one of her nipples just as she adored when he rose. He pressed her back down onto the sofa, encouraging her wordlessly to relax and enjoy and let him do the work. He slowly shifted her hips toward himself without letting her breast free, and he pressed the blunt head of his hardened shaft to her blossom.

He finally lifted his head and trapped her lips and tongue with his own, distracting her just how he loved to do, so that his entry came as a surprise when he buried his cock between her thighs.

Julia was breathless with her husband’s kiss by the time he thrust home between her thighs. She tensed, gasping at the sudden invasion as her fingers which had been resting against his side clenched tightly against his skin. She hated the fact that she was startled, but she knew that he deserved to know what was going through her mind.

Her green eyes held his dark gaze as they stared at one another for a long moment, neither moving until she dared to breathe again. She felt panicked, her heart racing, but she wanted this more than anything she had ever wanted in her life.

“I love you, Brogan.” She murmured softly, kissing him again with the gentle passion that she had for him.

"An' I love you, Julia," Brogan whispered against her lips, only beginning his deep, lovingly slow strokes into her body once he was sure she was ready. He was intent for Arland's cruelty to leave her mind entirely by the time they were done. Letting out a low, dark groan, he sought more of her sweet kisses, needing them to feel whole. If this wasn't heaven, he couldn't imagine what it might be.

"Ah, love..." he groaned and growled like a great bear, kissing now at her collarbone and neck, trying to love each bit of her skin.

Julia focused on the familiar feeling of her husband stroking in and out of her body, loving her like she was use to. She moaned for him as he kissed her with a growing urgency. The dark growl that issued from him made her gasp and then she felt his lips all over her body, kissing and suckling at her collarbone and neck as he loved her completely.

“More…” Julia begged him, her head arched back in her passion at the sounds of their love making. “Please give me more, love.”
