Ghetto Friday

Hello all just thought i would share, some sever ghettoness my S.O and i did last friday, i had to leave earlier on in the day to handle some family issue, but i returned later on that night. For dinner we had homemade pizza the only catch was the crust was made from biscuit mix, with brown sugar BBQ sauce around the edge of it. surprisingly it tasted good, has anybody else just thrown stuff together like this and had it turn out good or totally disgusting? do tell

YEP.........I'VE BEEN THERE

When we were children, there were times when my Mom did not have anything for dinner. My father had his own business so there were times when he didn't make any money or have any customers (his business was an auto & automatic transmission repair shop).

When those days would come, my Mom always had a way to throw something together and call it supper. My favorite would be fried cubed potatoes omellete. She would cut up some potatoes into cubes, fry them up, then crack some eggs on top of them with large cuts of onions and peppers. Some how, it fed a family of 7.

Come to think about it, I miss those potatoe omellets now.

I do mine on my gas range, though i've been known to use a grill lighter on occassion!

Probably the best experiment I had was using this creamy garlic dressing I had in the house, plus a whole head of chopped garlic and some herbs to make a grilled chicken and pasta thing. But that's not ghetto enough for the thread!

When I was little I thought that I'd make my own ice cream. This wonderful ice cream would contain all the things I loved.

I believe it consisted of:

Bologna
American cheese
Milk
Sugar
Vanilla Ice cream
Cereal
And maybe Maple syrup?

I stuck it in the freezer for two days and then decided it was ready for a sampling.

I think I threw up for the rest of that day. God that was sick, I still don't know why my mom let me do that.

here we go molk and OJ, mixed together, was in a hurry one morning before x-country practice and wanted food so me and 3 of the guys did this as we ran out the cafeteria
