Getting into Chat

I've been trying for several days to access chat and Get the initialization screen but never get the signing screen is the site down or do I have a glitch in my laptop?
 
Yes, you have a glitch, I can get in just fine. It's been hawt hawt hawt without you!
 
Chat has been shut down. There is currently an internal investigation being conducted and it would be inappropriate to say anymore at this time.

There was an incident.

It's best that we all just move on with our lives.

I understand that if something serious happened, it needs to be managed and fixed internally. No problem there. My question is, are there plans to bring it back up, and is there any chance we could get a rough time frame of when that might happen?

I know the forum people love to hate on the chat people, because somehow posting in threads makes them intellectually superior, but I just want to point out that if all the forums went down a week ago, you'd probably be going to the chat room to find an answer.

And you know what? I don't think we'd be dicks about it. For the most part.

I just want to get back in touch with my friends, and know if this is permanent or not. Thanks in advance for any answers you can give.
 
I'm not about to endorse the re-opening of the chat rooms until I'm satisfied that the new protocol absolutely prevents another incident like the one that recently occurred.

Sometimes, this place can be such a cesspool.

I heard about it on the twitter-tree.

I, for one, was glad that I missed it. I've seen a lot in my 12 years here, but this ranks right there among the lowest of the low.

It's not surprising that chat doesn't work. Time to clean house, I say.

I'm having a dyslexic moment every time I read that, quite a few years ago DNB meant Damn Near Bald within a certain industry group.
