Get Well StarryNightin64

2 out of 3 doctors very happy campers especially with me taking lower pain meds then is standard for post surgery. Be got the new pain med plan set up for Tuesday when I see doctor #3 (ortho) who will take out my stitches and get the new meds rolling.

Driving went much better today then Monday. Time for more meds and some sleep. I'm wiped out.

Ok I managed to eat a big (for me lately) breakfast then decided to wash my hair today.
That little bit cost me a 4 hour nap.
But stitches are coming out tomorrow and I really need to do a grocery run.

It sucks getting old

Stitches out today. I was over to Tampa very early so we could make it across the bridge. Dr.Ortho & my other 2 docs (PCP & Acupuncture) made the call to keep my vicos but at a higher level & no ibuprofen. I've been on MUCH lighter meds post surgery then is standard but they are all worried it was too much ibuprofen based and would hamper the tendon healing.

The films showed the pretty art work they did this time. This shoulder is basically macramed with what looks like fiber garbage ties (designed by some MIT guys) tied into a hole in my bone. Some will melt over time and the rest stays for the TSA to pat down when I fly.

<snort> just not scaring the neighborhood children when I'm out in public has been my goal.
I gave up on any real social life a long time ago.
The real miracles are my wounded warriors over at the bomb blast unit in Tampa.
I've had it really easy compared to them.

You've had some crazy accidents happening up on your area of the county.
But then it's Spring Break.
They finally found that 2nd guy that jumped off the Para sail boat to swim.
That's 3 so far that have died from jumping into the tip currents from boats and died.

I'm not so sure these new pain meds are ok. I've been at 1 every 6 hours or so (at 3 & 9) they've made me sleep really deep / hard. I was making my HF calls this afternoon. The one at 3 pm today made me really light headed & dizzy even with food so I laid down around 6 and just woke up even dizzier.

Instead of another I took an old one since my shoulder ached. I'm gonna stop the new ones and go back to the old tonight. Then call the ortho tomorrow cause this is bad and totally nuts.

Those new pills sound like they should be used to night sleep. Hope this clears up.

So the new meds were great until I hit the 4th one. I started to be really dizzy and lightheaded. That was 1 every 6 hours with food. Noon I started getting dizzy so I ate more. Took the next one 3 pm and by 5:30 if I moved it was even worse. So I ate even heavier then tried to lay down. I slept till the shoulder woke me up at 9 but I was still so dizzy and lightheaded it wasn't safe for me to walk to the bathroom. So I grabbed a half an old med. By 11 pm I was too freaked to go to sleep it was so bad.

Thank God I have a night owl friend in California who called me and stayed on the cell with me till 4:30 am my time. I took an Alieve at 4am and got in a couple hours of sleep but I'm not going back on those meds. Calls into the ortho team and pharmacy team waiting on instructions. Just took an OTC ibuprofen cause the shoulder is hurting around a 5 now.

This sucks and is scary.

About 3 weeks ago I totaled my Suzuki LS7 on Gulf to Bay, took the whole left front off. I was lucky just strains and bruises. Got a Chevy Traverse to replace it. or me the scariest was the airbags. I had to ask the EMT for his knife to cut the bags.

Hope your doing better sexy.

There have been a lot of bad accidents lately.
So glad you two are ok & safe!!!
How do you like that Chevy??

UPDATE ~

Today's new script for the old pain meds should get me back to a better functioning. They are gonna allow me 3 a day since we are watching the amount of ibuprofen I'm using. It seems to hamper the tendons healing.

One of you ask why they didn't fix this a year ago when we were at this exact same place. They did fix it but like they would for a normal person. This surgery done this time they actually drilled a hole in a shoulder bone then used some fancy MIT garbage ties to weave in thru my shoulder tendons to help them hold everything in place. So no more Hyper flexing and the tendons getting torn.

Here's to meeting this week's goal of driving to South Tampa alone on Friday. Acupuncture needles tomorrow which is ALWAYS good and a massage Saturday on the other shoulder and my back to help those areas that have over compensation issues.
