Get Well StarryNightin64

Well I've been nervous as hell all day... And the other shoe just dropped. The hospital just called and the patient /surgery before mine canceled and Doc wanted them to call me to see if I minded coming in early. So I've got to be there at 5:30 am. So I'm off to bed now, up at 3:30 am to get scrubbed down and the hour drive over to Tampa.

Good luck, sweetie. Positive vibes, good thoughts and prayers all coming your way.

Good luck, Starry! I'll keep you in my prayers

Thanks Ladies!!! :rose: :rose:
All scrubbed down, meds in me, baggy old surgery clothes on and my hair tied on top my head like Tinkerbell so they don't tape it into the packing again. 15 minutes till my Nurse friend gets here and we're rolling to Tampa.

Not really nervous anymore just hope the anesthesia guy doesn't get nasty over the ear needles and contacts. My ortho approved it all and said he'd deal with the guy if he turns asshat on me. And I really hope they don't send Dr. Vitamin in to sign on my shoulder before surgery. I'm way over his crap.

I'll post on here once I get home. I'm hoping I feel good enough for Cracker Barrel on the way home.

Ummm..... Exactly how long does a nerve block stay in place safely???
My arm is still numb since 7am this morning.

Oh Starry...you have been thru so much.

I pray that you will successfully heal and feel great in record time!:rose:

UPDATE ~

Thanks everyone for remembering me
LOVE the Stargazers. they are my favorite!

The nerve block wore off at 25 hours (8am here) and OMG my morphine isn't chewable but it assure is making me loopy.
Even with the arm numb I only was getting 2 hours sleep at a pop. So I am headed back to bed.
my email is messed up from the ISP being sold and they are trying to get it all transferred over.
it can get it in on my cell but not my laptop. so I need to tether them and transfer it over.
I have so much that needs done but I just can't do it right now.

The most important thing is to get the rest you need to heal.
Take it easy and just focus on that. :rose:

I had no idea you'd be online so soon after surgery!

The only thing you need/have to do is to rest and let your body heal.

Ok last night was the most horrible post surgery ever. I finally figured out what the deal was with help from my nurse friend. The synthetic morphine they gave me is only 4 mg per pill. My normal Vico pain meds are 7.5 mg per pill... almost double the hydro. They were only giving me half the pain meds I was used to with out surgery added on top. It was no wonder I was almost sick to my stomach everytime I moved just the slightest. Add in the muscle spasms. It was beyond UGLY.

I figured it out this morning and had my nurse friend look at the meds to see if I was correct and I was. So I'm on double my normal meds as of 40 minutes ago and what a relief. Now if I can just get some real sleep. So far it's only been 2 hours at a time then I'd shift, hurt and wake up.

I'm trying to rest. Tonight should be much better. I called my PCP to let him know about the pain med mess. I'm tempted to order a pizza and carb out with the real pain meds to sleep really hard tonight.

Done did your box come in yet??? I have the tracking number here somewhere
