Get Well StarryNightin64

Anybody heard yet how Starrynight is doing?

From her last post in another thread she said she was home and having more pain related issues this time around. Otherwise she's hanging in there and being her normal very determined self.

Just sending :kiss::kiss: & loads of  your way sweet sexy one.
Hope your recovery is going well, and the pain OK.
Know thinking of YOU:rose::rose::rose:

UPDATE

I LOVE you people!!!

This has been one of the worst weeks ever. The pain has been beyond anything I've ever dealt with before and I've had to suck it up before pretty hard dealing with pain. This is my first attempt at sitting up with the lapt op in bed to really type.

First the total damage and what happened. If you are squirmy avoid this!!!
1 snapped bicep tendon, 1 huge partial tear of another adjoining tendon bicep area. rotator cuff and the bone grinding of the jagged collar bone points. The snapped tendon had retracted down to my elbow so they had to retrieve that. The major pain has been from the bone grinding and the arm where they didn't do much but retrieve and pull it all back up.

They put me on straight oxies because I am allergic to Tylenol. The nerd pharm info is that due to that my body needs anti-inflammatory meds to ID the oxies to know they are for pain relief. So I was taking those dang oxies & they were not working. My lower bicep, elbow and am were killing me so I put on some Voltaren gel which is an anti-inflammatory gel. That gave me an hour break pain wise low enough I could get a short nap. Thank You to BradBigBrain's wife Gracie for helping me figure out what was happening. I read her PM notes to my neighbor/friend/nurse who hauled me into the ortho team offices on Tuesday where they shot me. Well they gave me a big ass shot of anti-inflammatory meds into my big ass. Then a script for the pill version to take with the dang oxies to make them work. Thank you DEA for making my life hell. Thank God those useless oxie things are gone. I'm on my old pain meds at a higher level then I am used to but I finally slept last night really well (all things considered) and am really hungry this morning.

Surgery went pretty smooth except for the Gas man's attitude over my PTSD needles. Apparently anesthesiologists have attitudes about being called gas guys. Miss J who was my body guard for this very reason sat back to enjoy the floor show. He got pissy when I refused to let him touch my ears or remove my needles and bitched that I had to hear his speal. He spealed on & on, all over my feet & I told him No each time. He had the nerve to tell me that his equipment might malfunction and I'd be sparking from my ears like an arc welder. Seriously like an arc welder  When I told him if he had equipment that was that shoddy he had better get it replaced since this was a really nice hospital. He got even pissier. Then I told him to go speak to Doc cause he was cool with the ear needles and I wasn't taking them out. He tried a tactic change and ask me if I knew what a nerve block was & if I wanted one. When I told him this wasn't my first rodeo and since nerve blocks are SOP asked why was he wasting my time with this crap. I wasn't going to let him touch my ears and shooed him off to talk to Doc (who had been waiting on him). I'm not totally sure exactly what he told the Gas man but suddenly when he came back the Gas Man was seriously kissing my butt nice. Later Doc would only say that he told the Gas man who I work for outside of the office. I wonder who he told him it was cause that guy came back 4 times after surgery to make sure I was good and if I needed anything.

I know we all joke about shower duty but man if I ever need someone around it would be now. I refuse to cut my hair & I look like hell since no one can seem to make a tight pony tail. They are not letting me have home care. Part is the BS from my PCP's office manager not doing her job. The other part is if I had them in then I wouldn't be allowed PT outside of the house. Historically they send me these PT people who don't have the first idea in hell what to do with me since I am not 80 or 90 years old. I then have to research my own PT workout plan. This time I can actually get access to the ortho teams PTs. I can ask for someone with a military background who has experience with wounded warriors and multiple injuries. So I can tag team my recovery with someone who knows what to do with a person who has this many new pieces.

I'm really sorry that its taken me this long to check in. Thanks to everyone who posted on here, who PM'd and Skyped. The PMs and Skype have been the easiest things to do by cell laying on my back not moving. I'm getting shaky from just typing this much up. So I'll go shut up and rest some more. But seriously THANK YOU. Play Grounders really are the best people in the world and my best friends!!! :rose:

oh so gentle hugs to Ms. Starry, and my hopes and prayers that she continues on the road to recovery :kiss::rose::rose:

Get well pretty lady. We needs to talk about ghosts again real. Soon. Had more crazy shit happen in the house lately.

Great to hear from you Starry and it sounds like it was quite an ordeal.
Each day will be better than the last one, so let the healing begin.:kiss:

things are slowly getting back on track. Switching me back to my old meds at a higher amount has helped a huge amount. I just feel like I'm a week behind. this weekend's new low was waking up and you were feeling like you were falling and your whole body jerks. The first time I thought I was gonna be sick to my stomach. By the 2nd time I pulled out the CDB (legal cannabis oil) and took some of that. I had to do another dose at 3 am this morning. I was hoping to drive myself over to South Tampa tomorrow to get my stiches out. But just sitting up typing on here this morning is giving me the shakes & cold sweats plus the arm muscles are tightening up more.

On a bright note Papa John made me pizza yesterday
so that's an improvement over Lance's crackers last week. :D
I've got funeral duty tomorrow afternoon. if I'm not feeling better
maybe they'd just consider pushing me into an empty hole

If warm thoughts from friends make you better you ought to be all well by now. :rose::kiss::heart:

Hang in there kiddo. It's got to be getting better from here.

Oh dear! I'm sure none of the post op recovery is fun, and getting messed around with the pain relief must be very annoying giving your own diligence.

Hoping for a smoother recovery from herein:rose::rose:

Shelly

Just do what you gotta do for you and to hell with the rest. As the saying goes, "Either help or get out of the way." It unfortunately does not sound like you have much help of any kind. :(

Miss J took me for a fast grocery run this morning. Then I skipped meds to go get my first set of acupuncture needles in. Doc was extremely happy with the progress since before surgery. Taking my meds late and crashing now. It wasn't too bad for my first trip driving since surgery. But tomorrow's trip to the ortho's mini Battlestar Miss J is driving cause she thinks it's to far and too soon still for me driving it alone.

You know you don't need to be driving so soon, woman! Don't make me come down there and take them car keys! Though it would be a good excuse to get away from snow!!! I'm glad you are feeling a little better and can at least give us some updates!

Take care, gentle hugs...

LOL... You can come that out on my beach any day. This weekend is Spring fest here in the park by my house. It's like a 2 day mini Ren Fest. I'll be able to hear the music but not sure I'll be walking over. I can't walk and not move my shoulder.

Doc is less the 5 minutes away for my needles. So I just skipped a set of meds to do it. I have a golden hour after needles before things shift. So I dropped a block over to PD to say I'm still alive. My friend from records will email a couple of my cop friends to let them know there was a sighting and I was sent home to bed to take my meds.

Just seeing this, glad surgery went well! Speedy recovery *hugs *

I hope the meds situation is worked out so you can be pain free for a while. Please, don't push your recovery too fast. We all know you''re a hero, don't try to prove it even more. :rose:

Very happy you are doing well. As you know, I'm rarely here so I'm late with well wishes. I'll let GEC know the next time I chat or email her.

Hugs friend (gentle ones), my Polar Bear hugs might be too much.
