I've noticed several people posting that they haven't been writing lately. I'm as guilty as the next person. How 'bout a little kick in the rear to get the old juices flowing again? I propose a short challenge designed with the sole purpose of breaking off some cobwebs and throwing down some words. Get back into the habit of stringing them together again.
Here's what I'm thinking. To keep things shaken up, not stirred, I'm throwing out a challenge to write three short stories of five hundred to one thousand words. Just enough to get the juices going again. The stories are going to be essentially the same story, but written three times. The challenge is to write a story where to strangers meet for the first time randomly in public. The first part of the challenge is to write in 1st person POV with one character, then do the same for the second character. A sorta side A and Side B of the story. Then to mix things up write the same story in an impartial third person limited or omni POV depending on your mood and how well you think your into the characters head.
Anyone up for the challenge? I'll post my version Wednesday when I come back to school. It'll give me just enough time to think of something as well. Submit all three at once or seperate as they are finished. It doesn't matter to me. I'll make the cutoff date for this little exercise Friday, May 26th.
Join with me in breaking apart the writers block! It'll feel good. I promise.
