The Germans beat us in a World Court case...The World Court has less jurisdiction than a fart in a tornado

It shows that the world still has no clue what US federalism means. The US was the defendant, but it was about a criminal case tried by the State of Arizona. They should have named Arizona. The US had no power over that case whatsoever and so was not the correct defendant. Not that any of it matters, though. Also this is not the first time that matters conducted solely by states have resulted in another country bitching to the State Department about something the Federal Government cannot intervene in.

I don't see a problem, the World Court is an international organization and I would hate to see an IO get any sort of power over the United States. It is much better that the smallest county Justice of teh Peace in the US has more power than that organization here. Other countries would simply use it, as Germany has, to rail against the US.

I am not a big fan of global organizations and I also dislike when we use our power to interfere in other countries' domestic issues. We need to give more respect to the sovereignty of nation-states and not surrender to the ease of using economic or military power to change the internal conditions in a country.
