Trump-backed election changes dealt blow by Georgia's Supreme Court

Georgia's highest court has struck down a slate of election proposals backed by Trump-aligned officials, ruling the measures exceeded the authority granted under state law.

The Georgia Supreme Court unanimously rejected seven rule changes advanced by members of the State Election Board, including controversial efforts to mandate hand-counting ballots, impose stricter voter ID requirements for ballot drop-offs, and compel county officials to scrutinize election documents and delay certification without a "reasonable inquiry."

every one of us should be grateful to judges with the intelligence and integrity enough to prevent such power-grabs, no matter the political party attempting them

Let them keep trying to hold back the tide. Sooner or later, they will get swamped.

🙄

And POS MAGAts think that ^ is a good thing for America. Fucking traitors.

Side note:

I suspect DonOld & the MAGAt republicans WILL keep up with the fascist bullshit, and eventually some disaffected / desperate individuals WILL ensure the U.S. is “swamped”…with wildfires and other act of arson.

The LA fires, etc, may have just been a prelude…

There is no tide in the direction of corrupting the election process the way the GOP wants to. Which is an admission that the party is no longer confident of being able to win fairly by convincing a majority of the public of the value of its policies.

another court rules against noem's attack on a collective bargaining agreement for transportation security officers/unions.

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington has ruled on a case involving the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The case arose from a federal lawsuit filed by the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) and affiliated unions. The court has reinstated a collective bargaining agreement for thousands of transportation security officers, concluding that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s attempt to dissolve the agreement likely violated constitutional rights.

Judge Marsha Pechman criticized Noem’s rationale for canceling the collective bargaining agreement, noting that it contradicted agency assertions that collective bargaining enhances air travel safety. The court found Noem’s actions retaliatory against the union for challenging the administration’s policies.

Pechman said, "The Court here finds that an injunction must issue to preserve the rights and benefits that the 2024 CBA confers to TSOs pending resolution of this litigation."

"No tide."

Immigrant citizens swing 30+ points in his favor, based almost entirely on his handling of immigration and riots.
That has nothing to do with voter suppression. There is no public mandate for that.

True the Vote once tried to hire Republican political consultant Rick Wilson. He had to turn them down -- because his firm did the research and could find no evidence at all that voter fraud was a real thing.

Show me the lie in the post you quoted. (The only “stupid” thing is you & your lack of reading for comprehension) I’ll wait…for your APOLOGY.

Georgia appeals court upholds ruling saying election officials must certify results

ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia appeals court has upheld a lower court ruling that said county election officials in the state must vote to certify results according to deadlines set in law.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney had ruled in October that “no election superintendent (or member of a board of elections and registration) may refuse to certify or abstain from certifying election results under any circumstance.” The ruling stemmed from a lawsuit filed by Republican Fulton County election board member Julie Adams, who abstained from certifying primary election results last year.
