Georgia Roll Call!!!!!

I just found this thread after starting another Georgia thread. I guess this is the "official" one.

I'm an Atlanta 'burbs lawyer. I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving.

Any ladies in the northside 'burbs, feel free to pm me.

Welcome and Happy Thanksgiving!

Christmas is in the air! I love it. Decorating my house and then to get ready for an evening out with my hubby :D

and I would have rather been at work the last couple of days......:(

what is it about the holidays that bring out the worst in folks?

I wouldn't say I would rather go to work but I am thinking of going into hiding till Christmas is over.

Sbelle,

Sorry to hear about the bad Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Noon at my daughter's in-laws...great food and fellowship

Thanksgiving dinner at home with all family

Wonderful weather and an even better day

:( Granny went back to the hospital today. My mom is a nurse and tried to tell them what was wrong with her the first time she was there, but they didnt believe her, and couldnt 'see' anything that backed up mom's diagnosis. Mom was right, she has a blockage in her intestines......back at the hospital trying to figure out an alternative to surgery. She had this same problem last year, had the surgery and had a very hard time recovering. We dont wish for her to have to do this again, but its looking like there is no other choice.

I ask for your prayers again, for her, and me. I am having a hard time accomplishing the things I need to get done, because I cant stop thinking/worrying about her when I'm not there with her......

And to top it off, she still has the severe bacterial infection in her bladder and kidneys. Its is very common for the elderly with these type problems to be a little delirious or confused. Even knowing that, it was a hard pill to swallow when she didnt recognize me today. And then my asshole brother (who has no job and ALL the time in the world to sit there with her) said she'd remember me if i was around more. He has no life and no ambition.....and I am *always* working or in school, constantly trying to better myself....still made me feel like shit for not being around more though. When she is well, she is not confused or delirious.....she does not have dimentia or the signs of it yet. This has happened every time she has been this ill but this is the first time she didnt know me. It was heartbreaking even though I know the circumstances.

Just finally got completely recovered from Thanksgiving. Woke up this morning tired, cold, but better than the last few days.

sbelle, I know things are tough up there right now, just keep pushing thru, you will make it. Call me Monday if you need someone to vent to...

Sbelle,

Sorry to hear about the medical problems with you Granny again. Nurses know more than many doctors give then credit for knowing. My thoughts and prayers go with you for her.

Hope your personal problems even out. I know it is difficult.

{{{sbelle}}} My prayers go out to you and your granny.

Thank you all for the kind words. I didnt intend to throw a pity party but I've had a rough couple of days. You folks are great and the anonimity here makes it easy to 'vent'. Sometimes if I dont do that, I think my head will explode....and Im not so sure that would be a good look for me!

I have faith that things have to look up sooner or later. Just because I'm not smiling doesnt mean I've given up, I'm no quitter. I'll keep fighting, and this too shall pass.

Wishing everyone a good week!

Sbelle,

Everyday life is a challenge. Good and bad, happy and sad.

Keep that in mind and things will be OK.

Wise words, thank you.

Granny feels better today, but not out of the woods. We are trying to avoid surgery, and there is still one more option to try tomorrow. I will hope for the results we want and keep praying for healing for her.

She has been having her stomach pumped constinuously (or soemthing like that....) since she went back and the amount, color and smell of the crud coming out of her is absolutely unreal.....

I'm sure everyone adds their thoughts and prayers for your Granny.

We have all had family members that needed our prayers and there is not shortage of people that will add her to their list.

Hello fellow Georgians!! Was it as overcast and dreary for you as it was for me? :)

Good news tonight, my Granny is still progressing, slow but we will take that!!

I turned in my term paper, got a 95 and was told by my professor I have the highest average in the class. WOO HOO!! Made me a happy girl tonight!
:D

Glad to hear the good news on your Granny and especially about the term paper

i have had a tough week, but went to see Granny tonight. She is doing okay but still not as good as we have been hoping for. Doc says he thinks hes gonna have to do surgery but we are all praying that she doesnt....even the Dr doesnt want to do it......thinks it will be too hard on her :(

2 more weeks of school, then 2 weeks off...then i'll be taking classes at not one but TWO different colleges....as if i wasnt busy enough!!

The sooner you finish, the SOONER YOU FINISH

Then you get to work full time, but this time in a field you really want.
