Joke...![]()
Congrats. What's your major?
Lol, gotcha. Jokes don't roll over well in text sadly...
Middle Grades Ed
Just sayin' hey to all the GA folks! Hope everyone has a great weekend!![]()
Sweet.

Yeah, I start student teaching this semester, I am kind of nervous, but excited at the same time.![]()
Sick. For some reason, I got the picture you just started at UGA. Don't really know why, though...
How does that work, exactly? They just throw you in a classroom or what?
(Edit: Oh, I remember why I thought that... because you're only 19.)
This is my second year at Georgia. I've been in college since I was 16...And I hope they don't just throw me in a classroom!
Holy shit!
Well good luck with that.
Hahaha! I want to get school done with! I hope to get my masters and specialists before I turn 24. I have ambitions....probably why I'm single. Guys don't understand what it is like to be focused on school...
I resent that remark.
(Joke, but I do know what it's like, thank you very much)
Lol. Yeah I read in the singles thread. No girlfriend ever? That can't be!
Oh, did I say that? No, I meant I've never had sex.
(Edit: Oh shit, I did say that... hm.. I don't know why I said that. I've had one in high school, but it was short-lived. We were together for about 6 months.)
Haha. I've had relationships with guys, but they always end up me dumping them...
And I can't believe a guy who's your age hasn't had sex. Mind if I ask why?
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh............ it's a long and complicated story. Alright, here's my theory:
You see, unlike alot of guys who post on these forums, I have standards. It's a combination of defense mechanisms that I believe that my brain has for me.
1. I have an intense fear of STDs and having kids. Now, I've heard mixed opinions about this, but I believe that latex condoms don't protect against all STDs - genital warts, to be precise. Now, some people have told me otherwise, but one of my professors taught me that and I can't get it out of my head now. Added to that, herpes of the mouth doesn't sound fun... so oral sucks, too.
2. I grew up in church. So, sex is embedded in my head as a true committment. And there's a long story about me and committment. Just know that I'm weary of making committments... some in my life have preposed to me that I perhaps have a fear of committments... and since sex is committment in my brain, that might add up. Right?
And some other stuff... like I don't really liked to be touched. I didn't mind with my ex-girlfriend but your typical person, I don't like closeness or contact. For instance, I was in lab one day, and I had a question for the professor. Well, she was a very attractive woman... and she stood almost face-to-face because we're not supposed to talk in lab. Anyways, I would keep stepping backwards, and she would keep stepping towards me... that was uncomfortable.
Things like that.
(Edit: That was a grammatical nightmare. haha)
I totally get you. Not the touching part, cause I'm kinda touchy feely, but I have the same thoughts about sex. I dated this one guy since I was fifteen, and when he proposed to me, I thought that ya know 'he proposed, what the heck' but then we had a lot of arguements and it just messed everything up.
Sex messes up relationships. Not that I don't fantasize about it, I mean isn't that why a lot of us are on this forum? I totally respect you for all your reasons you have.
Holy crap, that sucks! I'm sorry to hear that... But yeah, things are great until you realize that you might not be able to escape some decisions you make.
I guess in that sense, we're indecisive. haha!
Yeah, so many of my high school friends are having kids now, and it's like the stupid button has been pushed. I couldn't think of having kids right now, or for a while. I want to be married, financially able, and having my life in check before I do stuff like that...
And you talked about herpes on the mouth. From what I understand, you can't get herpes down there unless someone goes down on you while it is active, like if they have a cold sore...
Yeah, but like I'm going to take that chance! haha What if it's just in the ending/beginning phases of the outbreak???
And yeah, I'm not going to lie... I kind of wanted to enjoy some financial freedom before I had kids or even tied the knot. I mean, after marriage, none of that money is yours anymore. I kind of want that BMW in my avatar
But yeah, my friends have all gotten married and moved on. But like you said, none of them stayed in school very long.
So where in Georgia are you from exactly? And how are you living in South Ga and driving to school in Athens? That's a long drive...
BMWs are nice...never ridden in one. I want a VW Jetta one day...stick of course...It'll probably be the first thing I buy when I get a teaching job. I don't know how much longer my hunk of junk is gonna last...
Um, I live in a really tiny town called Ocilla. But I live in Athens when school is in session...so yeah, still living in the parents house...it's sad..but I am gettin an apartment in a month in Athens, so I can say GOOD BYE PARENT RULES!!! Lol
Well I have ridden in a brand new (well, at the time) Jetta with a stick and it was very nice. The chick asked if I wanted to drive, but I didn't know how to drive a stick so I declined. But yeah, nice ride.
And I have a hunk of junk, too! Haha...
Never heard of it, but I see. And I'm going to say this with a big disclaimer. I still live at home with my parents, too. BUT BUT BUT... School for me is costing over $150,000. You see, I applied to UGA's pharmacy school, but they have so many applicants that I didn't even have a change. So I had to go to South University here in Savannah, which is a POS private school. And UGA students are paying about an EIGHTH of what I pay for school.
So there. But I have some very good friends who are at UGA and I'm very jealous. haha
What is your hunk of junk? Mine is a 1994 Buick Century. It's trunk is a different color than the rest of the car.
And I've ridden in a Jetta that had a rack and pin in it and though I dont' know how to drive a stick yet, I'm going to learn. I do live in BFNW
Ah, I heard UGA's Pharmacy school was insanely hard to get into...One of my best friends got accepted into it for this fall. She got accepted into Mercer too, but she felt that UGA would be cheaper.
I thought I was complaining about my $11,500 student loans that I owed right now... *hugs* I'd probably worry myself to death thinking about having to pay those loans back...
GOD!!! EVERYBODY has that friend that got into UGA's pharmacy school. I hate that friend so much because he's haunting me.
Haha... nah, South is better than nothing. The good news is that I graduate in 3 years instead of 4, like most schools. And yeah, the loans are scary, but if I live in an appartment and drive a POS car for about five years, I think I can knock a huge chuck off. I'm going to try to pay them back ASAP.
So congrats to your friend. Not only is it the cheapest school, but it's by far the best in the state. I'll even admit that. And nobody wants to go to Mercer. Nobody.
And check my signature. haha I have an Acura TL. There's actually a story about that car a few pages back. haha Everybody wanted to know why it was a pos.

Eh that friend was like me and went to college at 16. She's 19 years old and about to start her first year of Pharmacy school...everyone tells me it is a boring job...I suck at science anyways so, I wouldn't make it. Besides, kids are wayyy funner than pushing pills
...you mean I gotta go hunt for that explanation... *sigh* okay...now I can go hunt for it...
Can I ask you a question? How do you get into college at 16 years old? That's crazy!
Yeah, pharmacy can be boring to some people. But I just like it... I mean, it gets busy and then it's just like any normal job. One thing I like about it is that it's not really a scheduled job (well, hospital is, but not retail). You get a script and then you fill it... you get another one, fill it. Insurance problems here, patient with a question about a sniffy nose here...
I wanted to be a doctor originally, but... they work all the time, they have no life, and the money really isn't worth all that.
Besides, pharmacy is a 3-4 day work week. I have "me" time!
And kids are great! I just don't have any experience with kids. haha And have you ever seen that show Dirty Jobs? I've gagged from kid stuff on that show... But middle school might not be that bad... so I guess you get the best of both worlds, huh?
