I keep thinking that a L made with the right hand, upside down by the right hip would be subtle enough to be overlooked easily but if you're looking for it, you'd catch it.

So index finger down, thumb towards the groin, and held at the hip for a quick second.

That or "I'm a friend of Manu" dropped into a conversation. Laurel is just a bit too common and could lead to some confusion.
