Gentlemen: Actors who were your Boyhood Heroes?

I'm not saying it wasn't successful or that people didn't love it. I'm saying that the original was better, IMO. That's all.

Actually, I believe Superman was something of a ripoff or Captain Marvel. The two were quite similar, at least in terms of what their powers were.
From their respective Wikipedia entries:

Captain Marvel is a fictional comic book superhero, originally published by Fawcett Comics and later by DC Comics. Created in 1939 by artist C. C. Beck and writer Bill Parker, the character first appeared in Whiz Comics #2 (February 1940).

Superman is a fictional character, a comic book superhero widely considered to be one of the most famous and popular such characters... Created by American writer Jerry Siegel and Canadian-born artist Joe Shuster in 1932 while both were living in Cleveland, Ohio, and sold to Detective Comics, Inc. in 1938, the character first appeared in Action Comics #1 (June 1938)...

Captain Marvel was the first to be in a movie, but Superman was first by at least a year.
