This might sound weird but it is a serious question and relates to a story I am doing.

Generally speaking, breast size is hereditary. That is, if a young girl looks at her mother and grandmother and aunts, and they all have large breasts, she can expect to have them also. At least, I think that's right. Possibly she won't but usually she will.

How about a son, though? Usually, he would not expect to have breasts but suppose he were a transexual and started taking female hormones at the age of 16? Would he/she also inherit the large breasts of his mother? She would develop breasts, but would they be as large as if he had been born a girl?

Well, I guess the genetic potential is there, but she would still have higher levels of testosterone, which inhibits the development of female characteristics to a degree.

As genes are donated by both the mother and the father, there is never any guarantee about how much of any single trait a child will acquire. Sure, men don't carry much genetic coding for female sex traits, but things like body type are certainly passed down from each parent. For instance, I've known a family where the mother was very athletic (lean, well-muscled, and without many curves) and the father was of average size and build (but without much muscle tone, a bit overweight, and not so tall). Each of their three daughters had a distinctly different body type (one built just as her mother with small breasts, one built just as her father with average to large breasts, and one with an odd mix of each parent's body type and average to small breasts). As for breast size running in families, I disagree that they are always similar or can be predicted. Additionally, the breast tissue in males differs highly in structure and function from that of a female. My feeling is that the size of a man's breast tissue (during transition) is highly dependant upon the amount of hormone treatment he/she is receiving.

I realiza genes are not an absolutely acccurate predictor of bodily characteristics, but a daughter born into a family I described would probably be large-breasted. If the hormone treatments are started at 16, and the testosterone lever is low, which would be expected in a TS, I think the hormones would produce feminine curves, for instance in her ass and legs, and limited body hair, except in the pubic area.

I have three daughters.

Their body types are different. Side by side you can see that they are sisters but one is tall and heavily built, one is tall and slim and the third is medium size and slim.

My brother is taller than I am and slimmer. I am tall and heavily built. (It isn't all fat!) My brother looks like the men on my mother's side of the family. I look like the men on my father's side.

My daughters have characteristics from both families.

I believe, you may want to research this, but most transexuals get breast implants as the female breast tissue just isn't there to produce a full female breast.

I would have loved to get the breasts from my mother's side of the family, but I got the breasts from the women on my dad's side of the family, and thus didn't do nearly as well.

Actually, my mother is an "A"... probably less than... my sisters, too... I'm a "D"... maybe I'm just the exception to the "rule?"

My mother is a very small A, and so is my grandmother and all of my mom's sisters. I'm a large C, kind of a "standout" in my family.

So you're not the only one :rose:
