Gender

Whow- just submitted to that "Gender genie" thing. Really confused as to what determines whether a word is masculine or feminine. I got female on it w/ my latest chapter. The word "and" sent me over the top. Never knew referring to more then one thing made me a lady.

Words: 2083
(NOTE: The genie works best on texts of more than 500 words.)

Female Score: 2588
Male Score: 2290

If I like men, but don't have a penis, can I still be considered a gay male? Just wonderin'...

Of course you can sweetie, you can define yourself to be whatever you want.

PS: Just a thought, are you handy with a strapon?

Just stay out of the personals. You'll get your PM box full in no time of wonderfully clever things like "is my little girl looking for her daddy?"

Besides I understand completely! Getting really tired of everyone here assuming I'm a guy.

You've named yourself after a pretty well-known male author who worked in a genre that at one time was pretty much guy territory.

I think it says a lot about people that one of the first things we have to know about someone is their gender, even if it means making a half-assed guess.

You know this maybe generalizing, but I really think it is men more than women who have that urge to know gender. Just something in the male gene that needs to know if that's a female penning dirty stories. The next progression of thought is "are they hot?"

Yes good old HP was back in the day when horror was an all guy thing. He was also a racist and as phobic as all hell. he did however, spin all of that into some damn good stories. I mean if he wasn't afraid of seafood we would have never had Shadow over Innsmouth.

I believe Clara Reeve and Ann Radcliffe got the horror ball rolling back in the 1700s, morphing gothic romance into gothic horror.

Lets not forget Shelley- one of the best-known horror novelists EVER....

Literature is like, the ONE subject not clearly drawn across gender lines...

Sorry, I just had to throw Shelly in there because I always thought it was weird that she's writing political/horror thrillers and her man's got the gay-ass poetry.

I thought it was a pertinent question.

That's one I like to throw at LC every now and then and watch his ears blow steam.
