Hi all, I think this post is appropriate for this forum but i'm not entirely sure so apologies if not.

Basically i find the idea of gender role reversal of males (preferably in a dom/sub situation) to be highly erotic. By this I mean not just wearing female clothes, but assuming (or being made to assume ) the lifestyle of the opposite gender for extended periods. Is there anyone else out there who feels similarly, male, female, dominant, submissive, gay, straight whatever? I'd like to hear any perspectives on this - or maybe it's just me!! lol

I don't agree at all. Gender play such as this does not necessarily fit exclusively into BDSM. Isn't GLBT supposed to challenge the traditionally held stereotypes about gender?

Many analysts hold that a mere reversal of roles doesn't destroy the stereotypes & may even be reinforcing them. Role reversal does nothing for those who want to abolish the roles althogether.

As to the substance of your question: I am gay, and I like my men to be men, and me too. But it is playful on occasion (and I like) to be submissive, but submissive as a man to another man (more like master/slave).

I did have an encounter with a man I met and found out that he liked to dress. He talked me into dressing with him (it wasnt forced) and it turned out to be actually (surprisingly) very erotic and fun. But I know acting like a women for an extended period would not work for or with me. I like men, and I like men who want men.
