Geeks for Geeks...

I wish I could find some other geeks who play World of Warcraft :p

I might start soon; just need to upgrade the ram in my macbook and get myself a copy. I hear it runs fairly well on this machine even without the dedicated GPU.

I just never understood WoWand some of those others...

I guess I just hate paying for a $70 game AND a $12 - 15 buck subscription....

Yeah. I'm a PC person myself, but I know a number of MAC users that haven't had any problems with the game and such. For a while raiders who used Ventrillo which was not MAC friendly has some issues, but I believe there's a version for that now as well.

The only other MMORPG I have played is FFXI on my 360 and while I enjoyed it, the game suffered from a sluggish leveling system.

I'm mostly a console gamer and love my 360 and currently playing quite a bit of Oblivion. Looking forward to Wii thisf all and an eventual price drop on the PS3.

I heard rumors that World of Warcraft would be available exclusively on PS3.

Haven't really checked into that too much though. I've heard a lot of people have been somewhat disappointed by the 360. I'm an old RPGer from back in the day, so I tend to stick to games like WoW (my first MMO), although I've been somewhat interested in FF (played the older console version on my NES and SNES a long long time ago). I'll probably get tired of WoW when they stop coming out with new raiding content, but that won't be for some time.

I am totally new to this site... wasnt planning on registering for these forums till I saw this thread.... LONG LIVE THE NERDS/GEEKS/DORKS/ETC! Any nerdy girls want to email me or message me I'd love to chat it up with ya.

Cheers.

I think the 360 is the most impressive system going into this fall. The E3 lineup was by far the most diverse - with even a few RPGs in the mix - and at their price you could pick up a 360 and a Wii for the price of a PS3.

I could easily understand why people would have been disapointed with the system over the course of the last few months. Not much has really come out but I would tell them to just wait until this fall.

Also, I've hard the same WoW rumors for the 360... who really knows.

Yeah, I think the 360 is mostly just holding back on their impressive games for the newer consoles to come out to keep up the competition. Basically keeping their "MUST HAVE" games that are exclusive to the 360 til then.

i believe the Revolution (never call it by that kiddy name) will be the best system

If they can get that controller working properly then it will be a fantastic system. I played Red Steel and Madden at E3 and the calibration fo the controller was a little shoddy. I have faith in it, especially after the DS. Initially, I thought the DS would be a failure and now I am dying to get my hands on the LITE.

ditto that...i need one of those myself. and keep in mind the Revolution has the largest supply of games to go through, with the rom packs

I agree with Vessira... microsoft likes to hold back their big releases until it can undercut someone else's release... why buy some new system when the 360 just released even MORE of the best games out? Though I personally like all systems (you want me to pick a favorite? that's like asking me to pick a favorite child.... and the answer is Atari :D ). The "Wii" (anyone know how that is supposed to be pronounced?) does look nice... I'm going to be hard pressed on where to spend all that money when it comes out (more computer components or a "WEEEEEE!" hmmmm....)

Also.... am I the only Tulsa nerd on these forums?

Cheers.

i'm only interested in the system exclusive sequels on 360....sequels that should be for other systems

I just wanted to say that I also like WoW (and other MMOs), Serenity/Firefly, Star Wars (oh yeah... now THAT'S some serious nerd-idge :D ), Table-top/console/PC RPGs, Anime, Books (sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, adventure, romance, dictionary, etc), Psychology, Astronomy, Chemistry, Biology, Medical Science, PC/Console gaming parties, RC cars/planes/bots, History, Foriegn languages, "Dead" Languages, etc.... and those are just SOME of my more nerdy interests...... did I mention I have ADD and cant stay focused on one thing for too long? ;)

Wow, a decent discussion about the next gen systems... Without any rabid fan boy screaming matches... :D Wonderful.

I don't really have an opinion on which new system will/is the best, but from what I've seen, they'll all be on the same level, tech wise. I'm waiting a while, for prices to go down, and bugs to be worked out.

Price wise... Yeah, the PS3's on the pricey side.
$500... Good grief.
