Gay US diplomats to receive equal benefits

that's excellent. Now all they have to do is reinstate the maraiges that were made illegal by prop 8 and similar legislation.

I was cranky and pissy because I couldn't sleep but now I'm smiling!

Is it wrong for me to giggle when I think of the nutties so many people are going to throw because of this and how it will get under their skin?
(well, it is a little wrong since some of these people can/will cause trouble...)

Every step helps! The CA Supreme Court should issue their decision about Prop 8 on Tuesday, hopefully yet another step!

Technically, they are not illegal because the marriages were performed after the Ca Supreme Court overturned the ban on gay marriage.

Anyhoo, on Tues, the 26th the Ca Supreme court is going to make their decision about whether they will uphold the prop 8 ban or not.

It's unfortunate that the Ca State Supreme Court will most likely uphold the ban but any gay couple that did get married already will most likely still have a valid marriage. It will be a pleasant surprise if they decide to not uphold the ban but indications say they will. :(

Really good news about affording equal benefits to diplomats though. Two steps forward, one step back. Gay rights is going to be a long, slow slog uphill but it'll get there....eventually.
