Obviously you care or you wouldn't have written what you did.

Although gender isn't as specific as you seem to believe, lets ignore that for now, defining a wife as a female identified person who is legally married and a husband as a male identified person who is legally married, hopefully not to his lawn mower(thank you congressmen King). Do you have a problem with my definition? I would think not!

When I refer to Jessica as my wife I am using the proper gender specific term, being we're both women doesn't change the gender of the term wife.

Although we wrote our own vows part of those vows included this “I, Diane, take you, Jessica, to be my lawfully wedded wife”, again the proper gender specific term.

The fact that you and others have trouble wrapping your minds around the fact that married couples can now be composed of two wives or two husbands doesn't change the gender of the words wife, a married woman or husband, a married man.

By the way you don't need any new terms to refer to our relationship, just like other married people we are a married couple.

You'll just have to adjust, those of us who have fought long and hard for equal justice aren't about to give up the words wife, husband, married or even spouse, live with it!
