Whatever you do, don't crack open MysteryWriter's latest unless you have time to read all of it. 9 gawddamned pages and you don't want to stop!

MysteryWriter! You prick! I've got two stories to write today, three loads of laundry, a pile of dishes, and a cheesecake to bake! I also have to pay bills, go to the library and buy stamps.

I don't have time to be sucked into 9 pages of a story.

I'm on page 4, I'll be nice and not let you know how it ends. Even if no one ever gets around to having sex this one has "5" written all over it.

No, wait, everyone go read it. Right now. I don't want to be alone in the hell of a story that won't let you go. Thank gawd it's only 9 pages or I'd be here all day.

I usually only read stories that are 1-3 pages long. But I read this one. 9 pages! Actually, 8 pages and a tiny bit on the 9th page. I liked the main character. I was interested to see where this story was taking him. Sometimes I get half way through a story and stop, but I couldn't with this one. I'm glad KM brought it to everyone's attention.
First, if you're hoping to read this story and be entertained with a tale of a 10 inch penis pounding a wet vagina into submission, you'll be disappointed -- but not with the story.
I gave this story a 4. A few things kept me from giving it a 5. The ending was handled well, but I, personally, wanted a stronger climax. The one sex scene in the story was never described at all. Though, in this story I really didn't need to read about a detailed sexual encounter. I think what I didn't like was the way they discussed the possibility of having sex, and then it jumped to the next morning. It was a bit too quick for me. But I do like the way the characters discussed the "night before." I knew what they were talking about without the characters having to spell it out for me.
The first page pulled me into the story immediately. It was actually a story in itself. Then it went onto something else. That threw me a little. I thought I would be reading more about the characters initially introduced. But then I became involved in the next group -- only to move on. Finally, I got to read about characters that stayed for the remainder of the story.
And the main character's two initial "cases", I thought, were handled with too much ease. The son, for example, gave in and talked within minutes. Though, reading about his experiences, before getting to the main story, did give me an idea about what the character was like and what he was capable of doing. The writer showed me and didn't just tell me.
There were also many interviews of suspects in the story, but I didn't find myself getting bored with them. They were short, and to the point, and interesting.
One thing I'm dying to know! Why, exactly, was Ruth so damn good in bed!!! lol
If you have time to read a long story, give this one a try. It really is a good story. It's interesting. It moves along nicely. The people are real and interesting, and not cardboard cut-outs. The main character isn't a hero or a villain -- just a guy with a special gift that really doesn't want to be bothered. He just ends up getting involved.
So, get involved! Read and vote!

I strongly suggest you stay away from his story list, then. You'll be reading all day and get nothing done. Good stuff.

"Truth or Death"

Nah, nah, nah, nah...

I downloaded it to my Palm Pilot to read at my leisure!
