Clearly, the solution to high gas prices is to have fuel insurance. Then no matter how high the price of a gallon of gas rises, everyone will pay a modest co-pay and never notice. They may grumble when premiums go up every year, but there'll be nothing they can do about it. Companies that sell this insurance need to be heavily regulated by the government of course. Plus, to make sure everyone suffers equally, it should be mandatory for every American to purchase fuel insurance even if they don't own a car. If they don't they will face stiff fines or jail time. But as with all such schemes, the end result will be the bankruptcy of the insurance companies, at which point the government will step in and sell the insurance.
