Am I the only one who finds it more frustrating to lose an H due to a 4 vote than to lose one due to a 1 or 2? I don't know why, but it bothers me far more.

the only thing more annoying is losing one after months of having it. one of my stories was on the top list in incest for about a month. i went away for awhile and when i came back it was both well off the list and sans H. i was extremely pissed. i was never very high on the list and it only had a 4.62 ( yes, i remember), but i was still mad.

Now, is a story much better, or impressing people much more, if it averages 4.51 as opposed to 4.49? Some people (sad bastards) troll it as soon as it gets over 4.50 anyway. If you're happy with the story, just look at feedback and public comments, and ignore the score.

Having said that, try my situation of seven stories averaging between 4.42 and 4.49. I could have a forest of H's with just a little more of a push. But c'est la vie. Some people have obviously liked 'em, and some haven't.

If you want an H, write a story in the Anal or Incest section - they always seem to get higher marks.

well, in theory, the H will get more people to read the story. that and it's an ego thing. it just feels good.
