Definitely something evocative and visceral about wearing an animal's skin.

I personally much prefer leather (I'm thinking coats / jackets here guys!). I have a matrix coat. It is awesome! It's fantastic in winter. That a good layer or 2 of jumpers jeans and knee high boots and I can barely feel the cold.
I do have some real fur. It was my mother in laws, so I don't feel too guilty about owning them. I only wear them occasionally and never out of the house.

Hi Miss Minx - Oh that is so cool - a matrix coat. I would love to get one of those eventually. I use to have some fur but don't have any now. I'm thinking about going out to the thrift store though and getting some.
Fur is soothing.
