On occasion I like to have a drink or two at night before writing. I find that sometimes it spurs my creativity and I produce some of my best work--as long as I do it in moderation. Today I reviewed what I wrote over the weekend and some of my word choices suggested I must have exceeded my own moderation rule. One in particular made me actually bust out laughing. I had written a sex scene between husband and wife and the next sentence after describing the wife's orgasm I wrote: When it finally subsided, we both collapsed onto the sheets, bodies covered in sweat. I let her decompose for nearly a minute before I finally spoke...

Lol...I'm not sure if I meant to write decompress or recompose, but I certainly didn't intend to write what I did. Any good recollections you could recall about hilarious things you've discovered when editing?

I have to laugh at the suggestions that Grammarly will sometimes come up with when I forget to turn it off while writing erotica. I do not have any specific examples, but I do recall a few times I looked at a sentence and thought, "What the actual FUCK!"

In my recent story Love Language Live I wrote:

Trixee leaned in close, her breath and perfume caressing my neck as she pressed the adhesive pad of the compact microphone next to my jugular.

Except I wrote ‘juggler’. Must have read over that paragraph half a dozen times before the error popped out at me.

Makes for a very interesting visual when reading. HAHA

My most common egregiosity(other than making up random words) is changing character names halfway through stories. I've republished three stories lately when my readers called me out. Funny thiing is I am so particular in my editing process, including using Words Immersive Reader, and I still miss it.

That happens to me a lot too, especially if I’m working on multiple stories at the same time. These days I do a “Find and Replace” search with the other MC names I am using in the other stories before I publish. In my most recent story I found 11 Allie’s that were supposed to be Hailey’s.
