Funny thing happened

Well, maybe not real funny - and when we got hit with subzero temps and the pipes froze, that wasn't at all funny. Temps finally raised today and made life a bit better.

But the other day I glanced over some old stuff, and as usual found many places that were beyond embarrassing. In these instances the usual course of action is a flight into denial or try to hope that no other eyes will look upon them.

But this time, I said, "hm, well, I could fix that to read like this." Which I did. Better. Then another sentence called for a fix. tinkered with that one. Then I started getting into it. Did it to paragraph after paragraph, and it didn't hurt at all. Someone told me that once, that it can really be kind of fun - or not fun fun, but a deeply creative sort of endeavor. And that someone was right - at least this time. Of course I think it helps to be in the mood, or in such a state that your eye catches stuff you normally might miss.

So, if you're at all like me and balk at the idea of tinkering with your stuff, maybe because you're afraid to cripple your precious paragraphs, don't worry, they'll be fine. The stitches go away pretty quick.

Felt compelled to share that, just in case someone needs to hear it.

Someone always needs to hear another person's thoughts. :rose:

Funny thing is, I'm the exact opposite. I can't stop tinkering. I eventually have to give it a push out the door and let it go.

The unwary beware.
Think you can handle just one little tinker?
Think again.
I once thought I could control my tinkering. The first few times I did. I tinkered once, maybe twice a week. Then it became four times a week. Before long, tinkering was more than just an occasional guilty pleasure. I quickly found myself tinkering until the sunlight appeared. And if I wasn't tinkering I was thinking of tinkering.
So please, be careful when you tinker.

Sorry... . :)
