I honestly don't believe you could call most people at Lit moralists. Everyone has their "things", some like it, some don't. Most are able to concede on Aleister Crowley's old adage, "An' it harm none, do as ye will."

But there are just some lines that people here don't cross. Usually, those lines are paedophilia, bestiality, and necrophilia. Paedophilia is my hot button - search for PedoPete's threads if you want to see what kind of hell I give paedophiles like him. And he called me an uptight moralist - but, paedophilia harms children. And as a parent, and also as a person with a general parental instinct towards ALL small children who can't defend themselves, I feel a duty towards it. It is not something to be tolerated.

Bestiality is something that doesn't yank my chain, and I don't think it's very fair to the animal, but. . . it's not a huge deal to me. Necrophilia - hey, as long as it's not the corpse of any of my dead relatives, knock yourself out. I think it's illegal only because of public health issues, not to mention consent issues - a corpse can't give consent, and I'm pretty sure the relatives of the dead party wouldn't GIVE anyone consent to fuck their dead loved one.

Sometimes it's just about class. I mean. . . come on, a dead body? That really makes a person look pretty desperate and depraved if they have to go THAT low. I'm not talking about you, since you say you've never done it, but it's not something I think society should condone. Perhaps condemning it isn't their place, but people certainly shouldn't be LAUDED for it.
