I would most def. punish her to the extream because I know that if she did do something it was to try and get my attention because maybe I've been to involved with work. She dose do this some times just to get the attention focused on her, especally when our friends are over.

It would depend upon the situation as to how much of which type of punishment would be given.
Some would bring corporal punishment as the primary method of correction while others might bring one of the others.
For instance a less than respectful mouth would bring long periods of silence as the prime punishment with less corporal punishment.
Doing something to 'attract my notice' could bring a time of silence as well as being ignored.
Let the punishment fit the transgression.


However (I hope that you don't mind my opinion - (we all know what they're like don't we? *g) Shuantanis, I think that if she behaved that way in the company of others you're punishing in many ways could foster the continuation of the behavior by giving her what she wished for by doing whatever she had done.
Perhaps islolating her and/or ignoring her for a specified period of time would be more effective. Perhaps forbidding her to interact in any way with the 'company' would also add as it cuts her off from social interaction until the 'punishment time' is over and singles her out as slave in disgrace.

Like I tell my Daddy. I'm a good girl so punishment shouldn't play into our relationship at all. And I certainly don't like the idea he has of sticking me in a yellow and orange corner to sit on a stool that has tack paper on it. shudders in horror!

Without specifics I can only say that the punishment would fit the crime.

Removing myself from the sub is like punishing myself by proxy, so that very rarely an option execised by me.

on the subject of whether the punishment suits the crime..
I keep a punishment book now.

Annoying habits usually get corporal punishment. A cropping usually. And he can acculmulate a number for each infraction.

What I consider severe lapses or misbehaviour, deliberate or otherwise, usually get an interrogative style lecture, whilst I explain my dissapointment. Then denial of priviledges or "time out" to consider his error.

Stupidness, or things "he should have known better", or laziness usually get a humiliating or nasty punishment for my amusement.

That is an excelent point Phoenix, and one I will keep in mind.

Back on topic~

He used physical pain as punishment the only time I have needed it. I am not a believer in being bad just to be play punished.

I was punished for not doing as he said, and I was not given any leaway for admitting I had not done as he asked. Therefore I now know that telling the truth does not bring its own reward

Waiting for his next visit, which was to help me move house, and then waiting for a time when he had opportunity without teenagers around to punish me; did affect the time we had together.

A lesson learnt in many ways.

The most hurtful and most effective is my ignoring her, not giving her my attention at all. I don't leave and do not let her leave, so not having my company or presence is not an option. She must deal with me looking thru her like she isn't even around.

"The punishment depends on the nature of the infraction and what I want to accomplish."

Spanking is out, she LIKES that. Scrubbing the driveway on the other hand...
Caning her is out. She LIKES that. Making her write a 5 page essay about what she did and why it was wrong on the other hand...
Humiliating her in public is out, that would cause her emotional harm. Making her kneel on grains of rice on the other hand...

Fortunately, I find that I can discipine with a look or a word in most cases. Punishment is something I rarely have to apply.
