I hit yes, I like them, but like isn't really the right word to use...
Y'see, I'm not sure if I do; they're one of the edgier forms of play for me. They hurt pretty badly, and not always in a good way, and I'm afraid of them besides. But, they do get the endorphins flowing, they make me wet and D loves them dearly. They make my stomach turn over and it hurts so very differently than percussion type stuff. A large part of the reason he likes them is it becomes a submission thing. I really don't like them, compared to say, flogging or strapping. It's a totally different sort of pain. I don't tell him no, or refuse to do it. Even though I really don't like them all that much, I do it anyway. Because HE enjoys the snot out of it and I get off on that, even when the pain isn't working for me. This sort of goes back to the FITYMI thread on the other page.
Even when I'm not in the mood, even if I don't want to do something, I still do it. I try to swallow my lack of enthusiasm, not always successfully, but I try. I concentrate on serving him, even when I'm not into it, and usually, sooner or later, I'm into it. I may not be enjoying the activity in question, but I enjoy his enthusiasm, his lust, his happiness. And that makes me happy.
In answer to what we use, he gets sterile hypo needles at a medical supply store. He like 18 gauge A LOT, which I've not felt yet. They're really for more hardcore needle play fans than I am. One of the girls we know refers to them as railroad spikes! I've heard of people going as big as 14 gauger but I've never seen it. For me, he usually uses 22 or 25 gauge needles. 25 are a bit fine and easier for me to take, but 22 are harder to find and 20's are scary ass!
Anyway, sorry for getting all serious at you on a fun poll.
