Catfishermen

Damn, you're coming in hot today and you've given me no real answer to my question. 🤣
Yes, with Nebs there was an obituary, there were also people that looked for it and people that got a nasty response from her partner on her social media accounts. Oh and there was a grave. I know because I went there. I'm not arguing Sin was real. I was just surprised that she wasn't as it had not been disputed or discussed, to my knowledge, on Lit and I knew the folks that might have wondered.

What I'm asking is how do we let folks know? I would want the people I care about from Lit to know if anything happened to me and I do have a friend that knows about Lit that I could ask. Would I give her full access to my Lit account? I'm not sure but maybe.
Honestly, if/when I die then all of you will think I’ve ghosted (if you wonder at all). One person on here knows my full name. No one in my ‘real’ life knows of lits existence. I’ve already had two people disappear that I’m 99% sure died; one had terminal cancer and the other was dealing with a marriage breakup and was suicidal. I consider it’s one of the prices I pay for being sneaky online and experiencing the joy and fun that is lit. A few of you know me better than people who’ve known me my whole life. It’s sad but it’s also kind of beautiful in a way. One day it could be your last day posting and we’ll never know.

This was several years ago now, so I don’t remember off the top of my head what their Lit s/n was, but this person tried to send me pics of Lacey Chabert saying it was her. I knew right away because I had a thing for Lacey after Mean Girls came out. I went along with it for a little bit, but called them out after they kept sending more pics of Lacey. The person then tried to say that they looked a lot like her. lol sure ok.

Yeah, I've done the same thing with Brad Pitt. Women here have NO idea. Just don't tell them please? I don't need my cover getting blown and ruining a good racket...

Secrets safe with me, we all kinda look like Pitt from time to time

I’ve bumped into this account on here, and off-site, that I know is using some doctored pics and it’s so intriguing!

I don’t know if it’s still them, but wanting to jazz up their life with the fake pics, or if the whole thing is faked for whatever reason.

I can’t make up my mind if I should call them out, ignore it, or go along for the ride to try and resolve my questions!

Doctored pics in what way?
There are three main categories of editing that I’ve seen.
First, I’ve seen images that are clearly edited or filtered for style or vibe-this is fun and there are threads dedicated to this that many folks enjoy.
Second, there are images that are obviously manipulated to enhance or minimize features-this usually makes me sad. Seeing real unaltered bodies is so rare and the ability to post and see these bodies on Lit is a gift.

Third, there are the folks that take images from the internet and pass them off as their own. This is so bizarre to me. I don’t understand the intention behind it and I feel like that anything the person posts or says must be questioned.

As for calling folks out. I don’t usually do that but I definitely enjoy learning who is a catfish. 😂

It’s pics that I know are someone else’s, but with a new face merged in. Done very well I might add, but no idea how many of the pics are real and how many are doctored.

Well Crap, Ummmmmm. Never mind. Taking my pole and going home.
Y'see, this is how we know you don't belong in this thread. If you were truly a catfish, you'd be trying to take someone else's pole home!

I don't think I've ran into any silt-dwelling fishies here on Lit, but hooo my god, the infestation of men trying to get with gay women on PinkCupid...
Or like you hit it off with someone and then they drop a "oh btw the woman in the picture's my girlfriend and we're just looking for a -trois for our mènage-á"

Sidenote: has any of you ever been, and is this the right word, dogfished? Women posing as men?

There isn’t much to post about at the moment for me. Catfish really don’t bite through the ice here. It’s more of a summer thing when the water temperature is warmer.

I just found this thread and I feel like there should be more catfish information. There are quite a few I’ve seen on the boards. Good thread @deefalttwunnyfor.

My favourite was Brianna. That was an interesting one to me because I thought she was so clearly fake. That avatar with the whole “I’m so nice and friendly to everyone” persona just seemed so fake. I remember starting the Brianna discussion thread (as you know how Lord Pmann likes to discuss things) and I made some really good friends from there. But damn that guy/girl really hurt some people with that stunt.

I’ve had limited exposure to people who aren’t real. I have a pretty good nose for a catfish. I’ve only ever talked to one person (that I know of) who just wasn’t who they said they were and this was back in like 2012. We only talked friendly and eventually she told me the true reason for her lies- they weren’t good.

I actually believe there are a couple of longstanding people here who are kind of catfishy.

I thought marriedexec was pman?

No no. I came back as the Widowed Married Exec character. I wasn’t the original. That was another one that was so clearly full of it.

I don’t have any interest in the drama that would come from publicly outing them or saying something directly to them, but it does annoy me.

I don’t understand.

I honestly am not familiar with most of the Lit catfish besides Brianna. Also, the one I created under old user name. Sadly could only keep up the act for a week or two and then just went back to normal dumb shit.

Stumbled into another one this week, posting someone else’s pics as their own in the chat.

Bizarrely they’re using the pics of a minor celebrity here in the UK as their own.

Seems an odd choice!
When you see that, report them. It's against Literotica rules to post people's photo without consent.

Greetings, everyone. I am what you would call a catfish. Feel free to abuse and harangue me if you wish (I really don't mind all that much), or engage if you want to learn more about something that clearly fascinates you.

Why do I do it? Simply because I enjoy it. I'm not trying to lure anyone into a scam, I'm not getting a thrill out of fooling anyone, and I'm not closet gay or wannabe transgender. It's just something I like doing that activates my creativity. For me, it's like acting, or writing.

I will never ask you for money or personal information or try to meet with you anywhere, including other virtual sites. My activity is here (mostly chat) and here only. It's not a business, it's just for my own fun.

I have several names I use. I've been "caught" twice, early on, both times by stupid, avoidable mistakes. It's been several years since the last time I was "caught." None of the names you mentioned here are me. Based on my experience, I highly doubt that your capture rate is very high.

I learn a lot from reading threads like this. I've been able to strengthen my "game" by reviewing your boasts.

Anyway, nice to meet you all. Good luck and fine fishin'!

The pics were on Instagram, but they’ve probably posted a few here too.

I’m still not sure if all their pics are fake, or if the face they’re using is theirs or another face they’ve chosen for their alternative reality.

"Alternate reality," lol. I hope it occurred to you that you're IN an alternate reality right now.

Autocorrect aside, what else would you call it when creating a fictitious character, for whatever motivation, when existing in this online fantasy world?

* and I fully accept that the majority of people on here, this reality away from reality, are probably projecting a slightly manufactured persona vs the one in their real life

Ok, then you've conceded my point. You're chasing degrees of "reality" from a platform that's inherently fake.

And I hope you can grasp the sublety here. You can call it whatever you want, that's not the issue. But your tone clearly conveys your contempt for someone ELSE'S version of alternate reality, while continuing to operate happily in your own.

Keep in mind, at the core of this, you're objecting to men here identifying as women. This is NOT against the rules here, nor is it illegal in the "real world" jurisdictions from which most Literotica users originate.

Oh, and you're following one of my alts, by the way. 😂😂😂
