I would like to throw a question out there to you all.

Do you have trouble with getting on-line sometimes?

Yesterday morning I tried to get on-line.I logged on at 4:01 AM.At 4:55 AM I,m still trying to get something. Then finally I get the homepage of Lit,but only half of it.On the bottom of the page it said,"PAGE HAS TOO MUCH INFORMATION TO BE PUBLUSHED."
What the FUCK is with that?

This morning I logged in in 4 minutes.
Does anyone have a idea why this happens?
I don't have cable,so I can't hook up to the new "SUPER SPEEDY" ISPS.

Thanks for any help!

ISP's

Problems like the one you had are often caused by part of your ISP's system having a problem.

Try looking in the Technical support area of your ISP's web site, then look at the Service Status section.
They should list the problems they are having on one of these 2 places.

My ISP is the local Cable operator, but I have two Dial Up Connections with them. Both are on the same account so my charges for access remain the same, but I enter the Web from a different server, this means I can access either one if the other is down.

I also maintain a third Dial Up Connection, to a different ISP this one I use for emergency access only, as it cost me more money to access the Web this way.

If you have a choice of ISP's in your area, you may want to look at the other operators, and see what their web sites are like, check the technical Support areas, and look for the ones that report the problems on their access, but also appear to be taking action as fast as they can.

Thanks Ezzy!

I'm on the Webtv network.I can get another ISP,but I'll still have to pay Webtv $14.95 plus the cost of the other provider.
But there are times when I feel like doing that.

Thanks again!

If you are a Costco member, you can now get 56K Dial-up at no cost. It's covered by your Costco membership fee. You can download the software from www.costco.com or get a CD at your local Costco Warehouse. You can also get free Internet access through various other outfits as well, e. g., Juno, K-Mart and others.

Hi Unclebill!

Thanks for the note.

On Webtv you can't download anything. All it is,is a internet access devise. You hook it up to your TV,and a phone line, and presto your on line.

I have been thinking very seriously about buying a computer, but for now this is all I have. When I look at the computers,I get sticker shock at some of the prices.

Well Thanks again

Hey s4b!

I looked into that for a second, and I'll check it out in more depth in a little while.
But it looks like my kind of deal.

Thanks for the help.
